Halaminated memories selfie

Posing with the many bonsai (盆栽) on display at the 2nd Visayas Invitational Exhibit & Competition of the Cebú Bonsai Society at the SM Seaside along the Cebú South Coastal Road in Barangay Mambaling of Cebú City

I vaguely remember that my maternal grandmother, Lydia Obligacion-Tañedo (1920-2003), had some bonsai in her backyard, aside from the many succulents (cacti) all around their house in Tarlac City.

This photo was taken circa 2026, during my attendance of the 2026 Otakufest also at the SM Seaside. That is why I am cosplaying as the character of Sakamoto Tarō (坂本 太郎) from the 2020 shōnen manga (少年漫画) comics and 2025 anime (アニメ) animated series “SAKAMOTO DAYS”

Postscript:

For those who do not get my title, it is my invented word: Halaminated (adjective): describes the state of a location that has been covered with thick vegetation. From the roots words Halaman̪ (ᜑᜎᜋᜈ᜔): Tagálog for “plant/vegetation” + Lāminate: English for “to cover”
