King Raiser:

Messiah’s Horn:
A mystical item that can teleport the user between Lands in Makai.
Messiah’s Eye:
A mystical item that can teleport the user between Lands in Makai.
The Keys of Norn:
Legendary items that are used to initiate the Norn fate programs.
VineCom:
A COMP that stores and manages contracted Demons. It can connect to the Devil Raiser and VineCenter.
DeviDat / DVDAS:
“Devil Data”. A compendium program of all the Demons who have become your allies.
DeviPhone:
A mobile phone that can be used in Makai. You can use it to connect to the VineCenter.
VineCenter:
A central hub for managing your Demon contracts. You can store and retrieve contracts from here. WebNet access is also available here.
Circle Gate / Makai Gate:
A powerful teleportation gate for travelling between the Lands of Makai. Black & Red Books require the Messiah Horns and Eyes to teleport.
Fusion:
You can combine your Demon allies to create new Demons, or increase the Level of your Demon partner.
WebNet:
Link and trade your Demons with other players, using the GBC cable. You can also battle against your friends!
BattleNet:
Fight on the digital battlefield against other Demon-users! Versus DeviChil NPCs and other characters from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise.
Net Raiser:
A digital version of your summoning gun. There are no restrictions on Demon summoning Class or Level.

Book 1: “The gift of the “Holy Lion” was given to him. He took the Lion as an ally, and bestowed an Emblem upon it, granting the Lion a new power.”
Book 2: “The path of Ragnarok… Two Devils bound by blood searched for the instrument of untold divine power. Their performance awakened the greatest divine being…”
Book 3: “The siblings stood facing the void. Their words became a spell, and the spell divided and transformed them. The words they spoke: “Holy Children”.”

The people of Earth rush outside and gather to look up at the sky.
Person 1: “Ah! The sky!”

[ Ice Land – Frost Town ]
Dust, the Yeti, exits his house.
Dust: “Oho! I knew you could do it, Setsuna!”
[ Marble Land – Coliseum ]
The chosen Demon Lord exits the coliseum.
Demon Lord: “Our world is saved…!”
[ Sand Land – Pyramid ]
Isis exits the pyramid.
Isis: “The new era has begun! The dawn of change is upon us!”
[ Fire Land – Casino Town ]
Casino Town is being rebuilt. Mammon appears.
Mammon: “Ohoho! My adorable little Setsuna makes me proud!”
[ Earth – Harajuku, Tokyo ]
Mirai: “I knew I could count on you, Setsuna! You brought the dawn of a new world!”
Mirai: “Have the duties of the Devil Children come to an end for now? I need to thank you in person, the next time we meet!”

[ Light Palace – Oracle Room ]
Star God: “Your wish has been granted, and a new era has begun.”
Star God: “As a special gift to you… I have connected the final Circle Gate to the Abyss. Perhaps you can find more Demon allies there. Farewell, child!”
Star God disappears.
Setsuna can travel freely though all the Lands of Makai and Earth to collect the bonus Demons and see the world rebuilding. Try visiting the previous Demon Lords you defeated; some of them might want to be Setsuna’s ally!
Setsuna can acquire a bonus Demon by returning to the School on Earth:
Speak to the group of students gathered in a classroom. The students try casting a spell to reach the mysterious classroom on the other side of a mirror, and the Demon Kitsune no Namamono (Tanuki no Namamono) appears! The children run away in fear and the Demon joins Setsuna.
[ The Abyss – Pandemonium ]
As Setsuna enters The Abyss, Zebul’s voice is heard:
Zebul: “Welcome to The Abyss, Setsuna.”
For clarity: this ‘land’ of Makai is called The Abyss; the only accessible area of the land is the dungeon itself, which is named Pandemonium.
There is a healing pool and an item shop/training service in Pandemonium, near the gate. Setsuna encounters several Demon Lords as he advances through the dungeon. First up is Phegor, the adorable baby Lord.
Phegor: “Devil Child Setsuna…”
Phegor: “I am Lord Phegor of The Abyss! The new era of Ragnarok has begun; I want you to show me the power that made it happen!”
Mid-boss battle versus Phegor. When Setsuna wins:
Phegor: “Hurrah for the Devil Children! Please continue through Pandemonium.”
The next Demon Lord Setsuna encounters is Berith, the pretty Kodona knight.
Berith: “Setsuna! We finally meet!”
Berith: “I am Lord Berith of The Abyss. The new era has begun, and still you desire to test your mettle in this forsaken place. Come, spar with me!”
Mid-boss battler versus Berith. When Setsuna wins:
Berith: “Impressive! I look forward to watching your progress through Pandemonium!”
In the final room of Pandemonium is Zebul, the final boss of the game itself.
Zebul: “Hello Setsuna! I’ve missed you.”
Zebul: “This is the deepest point of The Abyss. That you’ve made it this far… is a testament to your power.”
Zebul: “My real name is Zebul.”
Setsuna: “Zebul…? Have we met before?”
Zebul: “…heh heh heh.”
Zebul: “Battle me, Devil Child. Then I will reveal the truth to you!”
Boss battle versus Zebul. When Setsuna wins:
Zebul: “You’ve gotten so strong, Setsuna! You are the first one to defeat me since I was cast into The Abyss!”
Setsuna: “You… who are you?”
Zebul: “Heh heh heh…”
Zebul transforms into Zett.
Zett: “Hee hee! It’s me!”
Setsuna: “Zett!? You’re Zebul!?”
Zett: “Yup! Zebul is trapped in The Abyss, but as Takazyo Zett, I can temporarily make an appearance in the outside world.”
Setsuna: “Wait… earlier, I heard something mentioned about Zebul. He was the Demon King before Lucifer, and he wanted Ragnarok to be initiated.”
Zett: “That’s right! I’m the one who sent you to Makai. I’m the one who set your path through Makai. And Ragnarok wasn’t your decision… it was mine.”
Setsuna: “……”
Zett: “You get credit for activating Ragnarok, though. You’re the only one who could make our desired fate a reality. Lucifer’s program has also been activated… no Human or Demon will be bound by fate again; the future will instead be shaped by action and free will. Well, in theory. Who knows how long that program will take to completely rewrite fate!”
Zett: “Did you know that you’re not the only one who inherited the blood of Lucifer? If you want to be called ‘brother’ again…find that Devil Child.”
Zett: “Remember all that you have learned fulfilling the duty of a Devil Child. It may benefit you in the future.”
Zett vanishes.
[ Bonus Demons ]
Diana the Frost will join Setsuna if he visits her in Frost Town.
If you can find Azel skulking around in The Abyss, he will join Setsuna as an ally.
After defeating Zebul, Setsuna can return to Phegor and Berith, who will join him.
Bring Phegor and Berith to Zebul’s room and examine the place where Zebul once stood. The two Demon Lords will tell Setsuna he can summon Zebul if he recites the correct phrase, and a kana input screen appears. Read the Book of Raziel for a hint!

Nagahisa: “Are you okay, Mirai? You look a little pale.”
Nagahisa: “Oh, I have to go! I’ll see you later. Get some rest, okay!”
Mirai watches silently as Nagahisa exits the building.
Mirai: “………”
Mirai: “…Setsuna… you no longer exist in this world.”
Screen fades to black.
“Devil Child Setsuna defeated the Star God and took her place in the new world. His form as the new Star God remains unseen.”

Michael: “After all you have seen… you still don’t understand Armageddon is the only way to purify the world?”
Lucifer appears.
Lucifer: “Great Angel Michael! Answer me! Have truly lost all faith you had in the potential of this world?”
Michael: “Demon King Lucifer! We meet again.”
Lucifer: “It was inevitable, but this reunion will be short lived. It is time to part ways and allow Setsuna to decide the fate of the world.”
Michael: “Lucifer… you fought to become the King of Makai and hold your throne for the sole purpose of ensuring Ragnarok’s activation. Your predecessor—Zebul—did the exact same thing. We saw Zebul thrown into The Abyss for his actions… you risk suffering the same fate.”
Lucifer: “Your threats mean nothing to me! Michael—is the world truly beyond redemption in your eyes?”
Michael: “My omniscient gaze observes the gluttonous and slothful Demons in Makai…”
Michael: “...and the atrocities committed by the Humans on Earth. The Humans wage war for their own selfish gain. They scorch the Earth, cloud the sky, poison the water… Humans kill everything. They bring the destruction of their world even without the influence of Demons. Humans embody chaos.”
Lucifer: “And chaos means change! Humans have the potential to change their ways and save their world! As long as Earth is alive, Humans have the opportunity to rehabilitate their world and reconcile their differences!”
Lucifer: “But if we do not allow the world to advance to its next stage… they will not have the chance to change themselves for the better!”
Michael: “The Angels will not allow failure. The world will be cleansed and begin anew, in the name of Light. Even with this knowledge, Setsuna has chosen the path of Darkness.”
Lucifer: “Setsuna! The Angels are bound to their decision. The only way to get into the Oracle Room is to fight our way through!”
Nagahisa: “Brother… this is it… the final battle.”
Boss fight versus Michael and Neo Sphinx. When Setsuna wins:
Nagahisa: “So, you will awaken the Star God and activate Ragnarok? You will bring in the new era of the world… I cannot stand at your side, but I will always be with you, brother.”
Nagahisa dies and Michael vanishes.
“…A new power is flowing into me… I can feel that this is Nagahisa’s power.”
“Three powers—Human, Angel, and Devil—are merging into one. This is how I will usher in the new era… with the three worlds united, not dived.”
Lucifer: “Setsuna… you can now enter the Oracle Room and activate Ragnarok.”
Lucifer disappears back into Setsuna’s Devil Raiser. The Angel Uriel appears.
Uriel: “Setsuna. Despite our war, the Angel Child Nagahisa chose to bestow his powers upon you. Is this a sign that the Angels can choose a different fate? I wish to join you as an ally and witness the new world you will create.”
Uriel is added to Setsuna’s allies.
[ Light Palace – Oracle Room ]
Setsuna enters the Oracle Room and interacts with the Norn statue.
“The Three Goddesses of Norn encircle the world; one rules the past, the second rules the present, the third rules the future.”
“Setsuna uses the Norn Keys to execute the Ragnarok program.”
A new day begins, and the Star God appears.
Star God: “Ragnarok roused me from my slumber. Who held the Keys of fate?”

Part 8 - Dark Palace:
[ Central Land – Dark Palace Throne Room ]
Setsuna must proceed North to the Dark Palace to advance the story. He meets with the Demon King.
Demon King: “Hello, Setsuna. I’ve been expecting you.”
Setsuna: “Answer me, Demon King! Why did you attack Earth, unprovoked? And why did you abduct Nagahisa? If you didn’t… we would have lived as normal humans and you wouldn’t have need to worry about our opposition.”
Demon King: “You know you are a Devil Child, Setsuna, and so you must know the prophecy as well. I needed absolute control to decide the fate of the world for myself. As for Nagahisa… I had to determine his lineage to see if he would also be a threat. He is.”
Setsuna: “You brought all this trouble upon yourself! You forced us to awaken our powers!”
Demon King: “Why…is the reason for that…?”
Demon King: “Setsuna, you possess the Messiah’s Horns. As the King of all Makai, I command you to surrender them to me!”
Setsuna: “……”
Setsuna: “You’re not the Demon King; you’re an imposter who overthrew my father! Tell me, Lord Azel—where is my father, Lucifer!?”
Demon King: “So, you know. Very well; I’ll show you my true form!”
The Demon King transforms into Azel.
Azel: “Feel honored to witness the mighty Azel, Devil Child Setsuna! If you refuse to bow before me in life, you will bow in death!”
Boss fight versus Azel. When Setsuna wins:
Azel: “……”
Setsuna: “I know all about how you assumed to identity of the Demon King to conquer Earth. Surrender and tell me where my father is!”
Azel: “…is that my reason…?”
Azel: “I disguised myself as Lucifer… then something was drawing me to conquer Earth. I… I can’t remember… was it fate? Yes, it was fate that made me do this! It is my destiny to… destroy Earth!”
Azel: “Ah! I still have some power left! I will not fail!”
Second boss fight with Azel. When Setsuna wins:
Azel: “To think a child of Humans could come this far… I submit to your power, Setsuna.”
Azel: “…your father, Lucifer, is sealed inside this palace…”
Azel vanishes as Mirai enters.
Mirai: “Setsuna!”
Mirai: “I overheard everything you and Azel said. We still have some things to do before we can say this is all over.”
Mirai: “I’ve gathered all the Messiah’s Eyes. With your Messiah’s Horns, we can now create the Norn Keys.”
Mirai and Setsuna combine their Eyes and Horns to create all the Norn Keys.
Mirai: “Good! Now let’s set Lucifer free. I’m going on ahead; find me when you’ve caught your breath.”
[ Central Land – Dark Palace ]
At the end of the Dark Palace dungeon, Setsuna finds Mirai and Veil outside the sealed room.
Mirai: “You’re here!”
Setsuna enters the room and sees the real Lucifer in chains.
Lucifer: “……”
Setsuna: “…father!”
Lucifer: “…… … Setsuna…?”
Mirai: “Help me get these chains off of him!”
Setsuna: “Right!”
Setsuna and Mirai free Lucifer.
Lucifer: “Setsuna and Mirai, I’m proud to see all that you’ve accomplished!”
Setsuna: “…… Father, the Angels wanted me to deliver a message to you…”
Lucifer: “I know what they want to say; they’re awaiting our arrival at the Oracle Room. The Angels are following an ancient bond of fate… just as you have been. You were drawn here to decide the fate of the world.”
Setsuna: “Me!?”
Lucifer: “Setsuna… I wrote a program that will use the power of Makai to slowly infuse itself into our worlds upon the activation of Ragnarok. It will break the cycle and awaken a new era—a future of infinite possibility, unbound by fate.”
Lucifer: “It is not my destiny to decide the fate of the our worlds, and so I cannot activate Ragnarok. I can only offer it to you as one possible outcome. The final decision is your choice, Setsuna.”
Lucifer: “I shall not abandon you after you fought so hard to get here, my child. I will join you as an ally.”
Lucifer transfers himself into Setsuna’s Demon storage.
Mirai: “Setsuna… as a fellow Devil Child, I’ll do everything I can to help you! The Oracle Room is in a place called the ‘Light Palace.’ You can get there through a Circle Point located somewhere within the Dark Palace.”
Mirai: “Oh, please take this ‘Double Chamber’—it will allow you to load more Demons into your KingRaiser.”
Mirai exits and Cool transforms into King Cerberus.
Inscription on Lucifer’s statue:
“Every Messiah has fallen.”
[ Sanctuary – Light Palace ]
Setsuna encounters the Angels on the way to the Oracle Room.
Michael: “This door leads to the Oracle Room. We will use the Norn to execute the Armageddon program to cleanse the world and begin anew.”
Nagahisa: “We need the Keys my brother carries. I wonder if he’s decided which program to activate?”
Michael: “The ‘Star God’ created our worlds and entrusted it to us before falling into a deep slumber. The Oracle Room has been sealed until now, when the world has matured enough to enter the next phase. Within the Oracle Room are two programs—Armageddon and Ragnarok—the Angels have decided which one must be activated.”
Nagahisa: “Yes; Armageddon will allow us to create a new world of purity and order. But, what happens if something else is chosen?”
Michael: “If Ragnarok is activated, the Star God will awaken to move the world into its next phase and this world shall continue unchanged, in its putrid, chaotic state. Or, if no program is activated and the Star God is slain… whoever kills the Star God will take its place and shape the world to their will.”
Nagahisa: “Armageddon won’t advance the world into the next phase?”
Michael: “The Humans and Demons have deeply tainted the worlds with their corruption and chaos. If the world moved forward as it is… the corruption would only increase. To restore order, the worlds must be cleansed entirely.”
Setsuna approaches them.
Nagahisa: “You’ve finally arrived to decide the fate of the world, brother!”
Setsuna: “…Nagahisa…”
Nagahisa: “We must purify the world, before the chaos drags it to inescapable destruction! Armageddon must be activated… please give us the Norn Keys so we can save the world!”
Setsuna: “You want me to entrust my future to Angels?”
Nagahisa: “The Angels want a world of order, free of the chaos and corruption that plagues Earth. Brother… in your heart you know it’s the right decision; please trust us!”
Setsuna: “Armageddon and Ragnarok… Two programs written to choose the fate of the world.”
Setsuna: “Nagahisa—you and the Angels are so engrossed in your vision of the world as unredeemable and corrupt that you see your only option is to wipe the slate clean and start anew.”
Setsuna: “My father, Lucifer, wishes the world to advance—chaotic and unchanged—into its next state, for better or worse.”
Setsuna: “But it is ultimately my decision to decide which path we shall follow…”

Part 7 - Fire Land:
[ Fire Land – Fire Gate and Casino Town ]
Setsuna will learn the following information in this area:
Lord Mammon has been away from town, visiting the hot springs to the north.
If Setsuna wants to meet with Mammon, he will need lots of money.
There is a robot demon called D.B.-Kun underground in a factory.
Rahab is also in the factory; he is searching for the Book of Raziel.
The Demons in Casino Town really enjoy gambling.
DeviPhone Messages:
Elegy: Elegy is currently speaking with Nagahisa.
Mirai: Mirai is also in Fire Land. She thinks Nagahisa will be going there, too.
Franken: You can view the strong combo attacks available in your DeviDat.
Isis: If you have the Spinx, she encourages you to increase the Sphinx’s power.
[ Fire Land – Volcano Road & Hell Onsen ]
The volcano dungeon consists of three areas: Volcano Road, Hell Onsen (underground areas), and Onsen Town where you can rest and restock curative items. Setsuna will need to have 100 000 Makka in his possession to advance the story; be sure to have that amount in your inventory before speaking to Mammon.
Mammon is found in one of the Hell Onsen rooms:
Mammon: “Oh! It’s little Setsuna! Aha ha! Excellent! You probably don’t remember me, but I’m Mammon!”
Setsuna: “You know who I am?”
Mammon: “You’re Demon King Lucifer’s son! Oooh, I remember your daddy would always be sneaking off to Earth to visit you when you were a baby. He got so worried whenever you were sick. It was so funny to see the Demon King cooing over little baby Setsuna!”
Setsuna: “…… uh.”
Setsuna: “It’s true? My father is the Demon King. So, then… I must go to Central Land and deal with the imposter, Azel.”
Setsuna: “Which Messiah’s Horn will take me there…?”
Mammon: “You’ll need the Iridescent Messiah’s Horn! Azel sold it to me for 2000, but I’ll let you have it for… …… …… 100 000 Makka! The price is non-negotiable!”
Setsuna must pay 100 000 to Mammon to advance the story.

Setsuna must now return to Casino Town.
[ Fire Land – Casino Town ]
Demon at town entrance: “…the Angels… they did this…”
Casino Town has been reduced to burning ruins. Nagahisa approaches Setsuna.
Nagahisa: “Brother! The Angels have judged Casino Town.”
Uriel: “Devil Child. Behold; Casino Town’s corruption has lead to its downfall. The Demons here were seeped with the sin of greed and beyond redemption.”
Nagahisa: “Places like this—full of greed and lust—corrupt the world. They must be burned away to cleanse the world of their influence.”
Setsuna: “You call yourself an ‘Angel’ while destroying towns and slaughtering the inhabitants!? I thought Angels were merciful and loving. How can you even think of justifying these actions as being righteous!?”
Nagahisa: “……”
Uriel: “Our purpose is to save the world from its own disgraceful actions. The world cannot be cleansed unless the corruption is burned away.”
Setsuna: “You’ve appointed yourself as the sole judge of right and wrong!? And how will you cleanse yourself for the sins you have committed here? Damned Angels!”
Setsuna: “When you have ‘cleansed’ those who you find unworthy… you’ll see that ‘justice’ is meaningless in the empty, lifeless world that you are left with.”
Uriel: “……”
Uriel: “Your opposition is noted. I shall personally throw you into the Abyss.”
Boss battle versus Uriel and Nagahisa’s Hell Sphinx. When Setsuna wins:
Uriel: “You still refuse to submit. Very well. Take this and come to Central Land.”
Uriel gives Setsuna the Iridescent Horn.
Nagahisa: “If you meet Demon King Lucifer… tell him that destiny has assured the Angel’s victory.”
Nagahisa and the Angels exit.
[ East Fire Land – Underground Factory ]
This is an optional dungeon at the farthest eastern part of Fire Land. D.B.-Kun is broken, and Setsuna will need to find the parts located throughout the Factory and repair D.B.-Kun. When D.B.-Kun is repaired, he will join Setsuna.
Rahab is also in the Factory. Setsuna can find and bring him the Book of Raziel.
Rahab: “I am Rahab. I am seeking the Book of Raziel, which was lost within this Factory.”
Rahab: “You found the Book of Raziel! Thank you! This book is written in the Angel’s Language; you can’t read it, but I can.”
Rahab: “……”
Rahab: “Setsuna… this book tells me you have a great power within you. Show me!”
Boss battle against Rahab. When Setsuna wins:
Rahab: “Setsuna, the Book of Raziel speaks of you. The writing is enigmatic and puzzling… I will give you a translation of it. Perhaps you can make use of what knowledge it holds…”
Rahab: “…such as how you have the power to make every Demon your ally.”
Rahab vanishes.
If Setsuna found the “Death Emblem” item and has the Sphinx from Isis in his possession: the Sphinx can be transformed into a Death Sphinx at the training center.
[ Fire Land – Fire Gate ]
When Setsuna approaches the Circle Gate, Mirai will call on the DeviPhone and transfer her Gryphon’s new “King Gryphon” data to Setsuna’s DeviDat.
When Setsuna uses the Iridescent Messiah’s Horn at the circle gate, he gets another dream:
???: “Gather the Norn Keys, my child, for this world is on the brink of destruction. We must arise to meet our fate, and awaken a sleeping god. Only then can we bring the dawn of a new era!”

This is a (mostly-complete) translation of the story portions of the game as well as a summary of story-related text in chronological order. Names and dialogue have been edited for easier reading. Scene locations are labeled using square brackets. I will be using default names for characters who can be renamed.

Part 6 - Forest Land:
[ Forest Land – Forest Gate and Bedd Town Area ]
Setsuna will learn the following information in this area:
Mirai’s Death Gryphon transformed into a Hell Gryphon, and she’s sent the new data to Setsuna’s Devidas.
Isis calls Setsuna’s phone and requests he visits her again for something important. (Isis will gift a Sphinx to Setsuna the next time he visits her.)
There is a Demon in the western forest whose turmoil is affecting his memory.
The Demon Nisroc makes ‘Golden Apple Pie’.
A dragon was seen stealing a pie.
A girl Devil Child gathered the ingredients for Nisroc before Setsuna’s arrival.
Belial is the Lord of Forest Land; he’s short-tempered and in a foul mood because someone has been stealing his Golden Apple Pies.
There are three dragons in Forest land: Nidhoggr in the west, Dahaka in the east, and Crom Cruach in the north.
Harpy is in the north forest; she sings beautifully.
DeviPhone Messages:
Mirai suggests Setsuna visit the Harpy in Forest Land.
Franken gives a fusion tip: Fusing ‘God’ and ‘Demon’ types increases the chance of a fusion accident, which will result in a ‘Mutant’ type.
[ Forest Land – Lord Belial’s House ]
Belial: “Aha! The thief always returns to the scene of the crime! I’ll punish you for treating me like a fool and stealing my pie!”
Setsuna battles Belial and wins:
Belial: “Waaaah! I lost? At least the Demon King’s daughter—Elegy—didn’t witness this fight! If she saw me lose so easily, my reputation as a Lord would be ruined!”
Setsuna: “Elegy? The girl I met before…?”
Belial: “You’ve met Elegy? Though she looks like one of you Devil Children, she is in fact a full-blooded Devil.”
Setsuna: “So, Elegy is a Demon Princess…”
Belial: “Elegy ordered me to make a Golden Apple Pie, but it was stolen! If I don’t have one ready for her when she returns, she’ll skin me alive and elect another Demon as Lord of Forest Land!”
Belial: “Setsuna, you gotta help me out! Oh—I know! If you capture and bring me the pie thief… I’ll tell you a big secret about the Demon King! Trust me; it’s something you can use to your advantage!”
Onto the three Forests! Setsuna must speak with all the Dragons to advance the quest. Setsuna can ask each Dragon “Who stole the pie?” for dialogue, or “You’re the pie thief!” for a boss battle against the Dragon. The last Dragon Setsuna defeats will be the culprit, with no difference in story. The Forest dungeons and Dragon battles can be completed in any order.
[ West Forest Land – Wetland Forest ]
The Wetland Forest is located west of Bedd Town. On the way to Nidhoggr, Setsuna will pass by Black Rajah, a Demon overcome with inner strife.
Black Rajah: “……who? … what…?”
If Setsuna returns to Black Rajah after speaking with the Harpy, she will appear beside him:
Black Rajah: “…I can’t remember anything.”
Harpy: “There you are, Setsuna! I think the power of a Devil Child can amplify my song’s effect. Now we can help this Demon!”
Harpy sings for Black Rajah.
Black Rajah: “…my spirit is calmed… and my memory has returned!”
Harpy: “It worked!”
Black Rajah: “Thank you! Your song has restored my senses. And thank you, Setsuna, for leading Harpy to me. Will you allow me to repay you by becoming your ally?”
Setsuna can recruit Black Rajah, and Harpy will say good-bye. If Setsuna rejects Black Rajah, the Demon’s turmoil returns and Harpy must repeat her song.
When Setsuna meets Nidhoggr:
Nidhoggr: “I am the unrivaled Dragon Lord Nidhoggr! Why have you come here?”
If Setsuna asks who stole the pie:
Nidhoggr: “Stolen pie…? I Crom Cruach is the thieving type.”
If Setsuna accuses this Dragon of being the thief:
Nidhoggr: “Insolence! How dare you accuse me!”
After the Dragon is defeated (first or second Dragon battle):
Nidhoggr: “I yield! You are powerful, but… I didn’t steal the pie.”
If Nidhoggr is the last Dragon defeated:
Nidhoggr: “I admit it… I’m the thief. I thought it would be fun to tease Belial because he’s so cantankerous. Here; take the pie.”
Setsuna receives the Golden Apple Pie.
[ North Forest Land – Dead Forest ]
The Dead Forest is located north of Bedd Town. Setsuna encounters Harpy on the way to Crom Cruach:
Harpy: “You’ve travelled a great distance to hear me sing!”
Harpy sings her song for Setsuna.
Harpy: “Hmm? A Demon in turmoil? I think I can help.”
Harpy exits, and Setsuna continues on to Crom Cruach:
Crom Cruach: “I am the unparalleled Dragon Lord Crom Cruach! You seek an audience with me?”
If Setsuna asks who stole the pie:
Crom Cruach: “Stolen pie…? That sounds like something Dahaka would do.”
If Setsuna accuses this Dragon of being the thief:
Crom Cruach: “Insolence! How dare you accuse me!”
After the Dragon is defeated (first or second Dragon battle):
Crom Cruach: “I yield! You are powerful, but… I didn’t steal the pie.”
If Crom Cruach is the last Dragon defeated:
Crom Cruach: “I admit it… I’m the thief. I thought it would be fun to tease Belial because he’s so cantankerous. Here; take the pie.”

[ East Forest Land – False Forest ]
The False Forest is located east of Bedd Town.
When Setsuna meets Dahaka:
Dahaka: “I am the peerless Dragon Lord Dahaka! State what business you have with me!”
If Setsuna asks who stole the pie:
Dahaka: “Stolen pie…? That sounds like something Nidhoggr would do.”
If Setsuna accuses this Dragon of being the thief:
Dahaka: “Insolence! How dare you accuse me!”
After the Dragon is defeated (first or second Dragon battle):
Dahaka: “I yield! You are powerful, but… I didn’t steal the pie.”
If Dahaka is the last Dragon defeated:
Dahaka: “I admit it… I’m the thief. I thought it would be fun to tease Belial because he’s so cantankerous. Here; take the pie.”
Setsuna receives the Golden Apple Pie.
[ Forest Land – Lord Belial’s House ]
Setsuna returns the Golden Apple Pie to Lord Belial:
Belial: “You got the Golden Apple Pie back! Now I won’t be punished by Elegy!”
Belial: “Devil Child, your assistance makes me happy. Almost as happy as I will be when I throw you into the Abyss!”
Boss battle with Belial. When Setsuna wins:
Belial: “Ack! No! P-please forgive meeee!! I didn’t mean to manipulate you—well, I did, but—it’s Elegy’s wrath! You understand, right? What can I do to make you spare me?”
Setsuna: “You can start by telling me that ‘big secret’ you promised to share.”
Belial: “Huh? What secret?”
Setsuna: “I’m not in the mood for games, Belial! Tell me the secret you know about the Demon King! You said it was something I could use to my advantage.”
Belial: “Ah, so you remembered all that.”
Belial: “Then, listen carefully…”
Belial: “The Demon King who is trying to destroy you… is not the real Demon King! He’s an imposter”
Setsuna: “An imposter!? But—if that’s true—why is he trying so hard to kill me? Who is he?”
Belial: “The imposter is a Demon named ‘Azel.’ …Setsuna, the real Demon King—Lucifer—is your father.”
Belial: “Azel trapped your father and took his form. All the Lords of Makai are in on this scheme! Ha ha! All the Demons of Makai who thought they were loyally serving their beloved King Lucifer have actually been following Azel’s orders!”
Setsuna: “…!!!”
Setsuna: “I see. The imposter Azel wants to destroy me because I’m the child of Lucifer, the true Demon King.”
Setsuna: “What happened to my father? Where is he?”
Belial: “Hmm. I don’t know. The last Lord to visit Central Land was Lord Mammon of Fire Land; he might have heard something!”
Belial: “Here’s the Red Messiah’s Horn! Now you can go to Fire Land and forgive me, right? Yeah!”
Setsuna receives the Red Messiah’s Horn.
[ Forest Land – Forest Gate ]
As Setsuna walks towards the Circle Gate, Nagahisa will approach.
Nagahisa: “Wait!”
Nagahisa: “I heard about the Horns and Eyes of the Messiah.”
Setsuna: “What do you mean?”
Nagahisa: “You’ve been collecting the Messiah’s Horns, and the other Devil Child has been collecting the Messiah’s Eyes. I heard that when the Eyes and Horns are combined, they create the Norn Keys.”
Nagahisa: “The Norn Keys were divided into seven Horns and seven Eyes. If all seven Keys are brought to the Oracle Room in central Land, the Armageddon and Ragnarok programs can be activated.”
Setsuna: “Isis told me about the Keys. But, I have no interest in deciding the fate of the world.”
Nagahisa: “The Angels do! They have a solid plan for the future. Brother… please join us. If you lend your power to the Angels, we can achieve their dream of creating a new and better world!”
Setsuna: “Nagahisa… life is what we make of it ourselves. I don’t think a single entity has the right to decide the fate of our world. Please understand what I’m saying… and when the time comes, I hope you’ll make the right decision.”
Nagahisa: “They… they told me you wouldn’t listen. The Angels were right. They’re always right. Maybe if I show you how much my power has increased… you’ll change your mind!”
Boss battle versus Nagahisa’s Death Sphinx. When Setsuna wins:
Nagahisa: “No… I still can’t compare to you.”
Nagahisa: “I-I won’t surrender!”
An Angel flies to Nagahisa’s side.
Uriel: “I am Uriel, the Great Angel.”
Uriel: “Nagahisa, you’ve exhausted your power; I must bring you back with me.”
Nagahisa: “Thank you, Uriel.”
Nagahisa: “Setsuna; my father is the Great Angel Micheal. As an Angel child, I am bound to the Angels.”
Nagahisa: “We will succeed in making our ideal fate a reality.”
Setsuna: “……”
Nagahisa and Uriel exit. Cool speaks to Setsuna:
Cool: “My body is burning! My power is—!!!”
Cool’s rank increased to make him a ‘Hell Cerberus.”
When Setsuna uses the Red Horn at the Circle Gate, he gets another dream sequence:
???: “Gather the Norn Keys, my child, for this world is on the brink of... We must arise to meet our... and awaken a sleeping... Only then can we bring the... a new...!”
