From this post
Thank you so much for the ask! And I love your icon and your name, by the way!
11. Do you listen to music when writing?
Yes! Always. Either to get me into a specific mood or to help me associate with the situation better, or just because I don’t like it when it’s completely silent! Having something in the background helps me write a lot more fluently! (don’t ask me why).
If people are curious, I wouldn’t mind making a playlist related to for instance The Phantom of the Arena sometime.
17. Favorite AU to write
Currently? My The Phantom of the Opera-AU! Besides that? I don’t really know yet, I need to try a few more ^^
44. Do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it?
I exclusively and consciously only write linearly. I do plan scenes ahead and by the time I actually arrive at them I usually have a whole stream of notes of what needs to be in them or sentences I could use, but I never write them already.
The reason for this is simple; I very often find that I can’t truly grasp the feel and impact of a scene until I’ve written everything before it. Most of the time I have an idea and it turns out to be true, but it’s also gone differently because I found that in scenes before that it just made more sense to write them differently. And these differences can sometimes really come from tiny details.
So to prevent myself from both a) putting effort into scenes that I later have to rewrite and b) clinging to those future scenes and dragging parts before it down just so it’ll work, I only ever write linearly.

smugglerofsass mentioned you on a post “What type of dancer is grace?”
Oh @knightedrogue, I was never able to truly get in to tap (though I guess nothing truly felt right until I found modern) but to read your words I think I might understand what my favorite teacher enjoyed about it and it truly brings me to tears.
I think there’s a purity about tap, a personality to it, that makes it unique and different and therefore attracts that kind of person to it. Modern has a similar feel, but with its own appeal: the breaking of boundaries, the idea of smashing what is traditional and finding intellect in movement that sometimes doesn’t exist in other genres. I took modern to fill out my dance education but I never quite found the kind of story I wanted to tell in it ... that came later, as I started choreographing contemporary pieces: my true calling! Storytelling is my drug of choice (in case you couldn’t tell), and I love using bodies to tell the kind of stories that remind us that we’re all human.
But your comment highlights another part of this: a part that @cicatrick seems to have understood right from the get-go: each genre of dance has a different character to it. Some kids are born with ballet in their bones but West Coast Swing in their hearts, and some never find their genre. The true prodigies are the ones whose bodies are built for the task AND they find inner satisfaction with it, too. And I think Grace Solo would be that particular kind of lucky: she’s her father’s daughter, after all. :D
playlist prompt: I'd rather like to be a ghost with you
this was simultaneously the easiest and also hardest prompt omg. i have SO many ghost songs that i love and it was so hard to cut any! i tried to go with more of an upbeat, happy theme rather than a sad ghost theme (except maybe the first one!). i hope it works!
Natalie Marie and 1cc by The Spill Canvas
Little Ghost by The White Stripes
Funky Ghost by Bandits on the Run
Anybody Else by Dom Fera
My Body’s A Zombie For You by Dead Man’s Bones
I can't remember if I saw someone mention this once or if I've just thought it so much that it feels like universal truth but Lord Huron's Ends of the Earth makes me think of Strange Moons.
(The first time I fully processed the lyrics "I was ready to die for you, doesn't mean I'm ready to stay" I scrambled across the room, hunted down the fic link and sent it to my best friend along with the song, and demanded she read it.)
This just made me so happy. Oh gosh, thank you so much! I listened to a certain playlist I had made when writing it and Ends of the Earth was on there along with a lot of The Mountain Goats and The National. I’m really happy it reminds you of Strange Moons! The line about the desert and counting the dunes always gets me in the throat 💛
If I was a cleverer human I would do one of those comparison posts about Ends of the Earth and also Ruth 1:16 and 1:17. But for now:
Lots of overlap ♥️
Thank you SO much for sending me this wonderful message. It’s really so lovely ♥️

-Meadows of Heaven by Nightwish
(send me a ∞ and I’ll shuffle my music and give you my favorite lyrics from the song that comes up!)
✨ you remind me of Han Solo because I still owe you answers on how he's superstitious. 😬
Thanks friend! Some other people have also told me that and it’s totally not because I talk to my car and have gotten through some scrapes like driving a banjaxed car from one end of Ireland to the other without dying due to pure luck
(and don’t stress about that :) but if you ever want to just yell unpolished ideas at me please feel free)
Send me an ask saying what character I remind you of and why!
