1. Snakes don't have eyelids. The result of this being, it's difficult to tell whether they're asleep or awake as they look about exactly the same. Do with this information what you will.
2. Cold-blooded is a bit of a misnomer. They are ectotherms, which means they have to use the environment to control their internal temperature. A snake that's been basking will actually be very warm and squishy.
3. Snakes in general are squishy. Soft and squishy. People at work are always surprised when they touch one I'm holding and discover they're smooth, chunky babies and not rough, firm hoses.
4. Have you seen a snake drink?
5. Snakes have over 10,000 muscles. In comparison, humans hover under 800.
6. Yes, snakes do have two dicks. They're called hemipenes and are sheathed in the tail when not in use. They also look incredibly bonkers. There are ones with spikes and multiple branches and even one that looks like hearts for some reason?
7. And last but not least, look at how tiny their tails are. Itty bitty.
