Oh Dragon Age: The Veilguard for SURE

It came out the same month my ex passed away. We were friends before we dated but hadn't really spoken since we split so when he passed it was this big complicated ball of grief, regret, and the things we'd never get to say and figure out.

And look, Veilguard isn't a perfect game, but it was perfect for what I needed then. It handled those complicated feelings of regret in a way that I could manage. It handled grief that isn't neat and tidy – grief that's sometimes a bit of a mess. It helped me make peace with the fact that sometimes you don't get to say everything you need to say before someone's gone, and it's always going to suck when that happens, but there's still a way to live where you honour what you did manage to say.

Not the most fun answer, but this is the one game that truly is tied to something specific in my life.

I think so! Her dad has a silver head.

Her mom's head is more yellow, but it's still got a bunch of silver in it.

She still has a couple years of color development, but thus far I'm hopeful her head will be silver.

I never did finish that headcanon post did I? Oh we this will basically become it!

I headcanon Butch as having Monophobia- (The fear of being alone-) That’s why he’s clingy and has that one specific line “you’re not gonna leave me here are you?”

Bi Bi Bi! He’s bisexual and proud! His first crush that made him realize he sure as hell ain’t straight was Wally- ah to be young and gay...

He’s an anxious bean- sure he’s confident, flirty, talkative, loud- but trust me, you can be all of those and be anxious af xD

He def made the Tunnel Snakes jackets— there’s no way that asshole Wally helped him and Paul probably wasn’t that great with help on that

Paul was Butch’s best friend before he died— LW sure as hell made it up there real fast- tho he still misses him.

He tries to hide his emotions and never will cry in public bcuz he’s too “tough” to.

The Lone wanderer is one of the only ppl Butch shows his emotions to- they earned his trust.

That boy def has a crush on LW. Regardless of gender ;)

Swing!! He knows how to swing dance! He loves dancing! Esp with Lone

When I’m public he’ll just randomly start humming songs- but when alone with lone hell just fully start singing songs randomly-

He’s good at singing 👀 😳

He’s rly romantic when he wants to be— and often uses his voice to make lone swoon-

He’s an artist! Who else could’ve designed the jackets

He will fixate on little things and can easily get overwhelmed-

He likes to count and note little things abt lone that he notices and finds cute- (freckles, beauty marks, little movements, ect.)

He will fuckin fight for what he believes right! He has no care who he will punch— or uh bite? Anyone who goes against him and lone are sure to get much more bite and bark than they expected lol what else would you expect tho from the vaults rebellion?

He’s a pussy don’t get me wrong- but the ambition in that lil man.. the determination is what kept him going. Even in the darkest point of his life.

He loves his mother with all his heart! But the feelings aren’t mutual... she ended up disowning him and they aren’t on speaking terms... at all... at least on her end anyways-

If the lw is in danger or is getting attacked he’ll try to make sure he gets the enemies off of them at least to give them time to think/ react. Even if he’s far away from them he’ll still try to help and get closer.

Regardless if the lw tells him to stay back he will slowly inch closer and probably hold onto their arm when scared.

God it’s so bad, I’m sorry. I don’t normally get art requests so I just scrambled to my computer and opened a program that I haven’t used in like a year and made this in like an hour.

Of course I do! Why wouldn’t I? They’re my pets too, just like my cats.

All of them are coming along to the new house. It’s gonna be the most complicated part of the move, but luckily I have my buddy helping out, and we used to work together at my reptile-related job so he has plenty of experience with large cantankerous arboreal snakes….thankfully for his sake, lol.

They’re going to be in my new office—which was formerly J’s guest room—but eventually we’re gonna finish the basement and make it into my ‘snake cave’ filled with cages and recessed lighting, so that will be awesome.

Holy shit only recently I discovered Brazilian rainbow boa in the news and it's so cool the color (I had no idea how was the name in english, so I google the scientific name first to find the english name after, so I hope is right, Jiboia Arco-Íris da Caatinga (Epicrates assisi))

They are SOO cool and you are correct! (Although I know their scientific name as Epicrates cenchria—might be different in your language!)

Brazilian rainbow boas are an extreme example of how iridescence is often a factor in snake scales. In full sunlight, they truly do have a rainbow or chromatic shine, almost like an oil slick. They’re also a lovely docile species with a good handling track record, so Tex here was an absolute angel and I strongly considered stealing her. When and if reptile expos come back to my area, you can bet that I might pick one of these up. They’re on my list, for sure.

If you’d like one of your own, they make a handsome and excellent pet! Brazilian rainbow boas are a commonly bred species in the hobby, and have a moderate to high price range, depending on availability in your area. They usually retail in the US for around $200-300, and prices go up for the hypo morphs. Luckily, they breed readily in captivity so babies should not be hard to find, and there’s no need to support wild caught animals. They do have high humidity needs, around 60-80% at all times, and they like to be cooler than most snakes, with a temperature requirements around 80-85f (25-30c) in their warm zone, and 70-75f (21-24c) in the cool zone. As a baby you can house them in a storage tub with holes drilled for ventilation, or a small 2-3’ cage. An adult female will reach around 5-6’ or 150-180cm and males will stay smaller, but they’re still an active snake and would enjoy a nice enclosure with plenty of room, around 4x2x2 or 6x2x2x2. They will feed readily once a week on frozen/thawed rodents and will shed generally once a month/every three months from juvenile to adulthood. Although they are relatively easy to keep once you get the temperature and humidity down to a consistent level, it’s important to note that they are dependent on their humidity to avoid desiccation and will require a diligent keeper with some patience and monitoring to get just right. But other than that, I’d class them as a wonderful snake to own, and certainly one of the most beautiful.
