Sidewinder is a term for a snake's method of travel. It's so that they have minimal and targeted contact with the hot desert sand on their abdominal scales.

It can also be a rather goofy lunge but hey, if it works...

Also they might be cold blooded but they don't appreciate being cooked!

I did a really quick animation of a snake. I wanted to try this out to see how I would get movement of my serpent-like character. At the end it kind of forms into a human, it’s just something I thought the character could do rather than just being one thing. 

I like the movement and all, but I feel like this would be difficult for a stop motion animation, and I’m not too sure if a snake like armature would work when animating. I tried to look for some references online, but most of the were cut out puppets, and I’d rather have a solid form and something I can physically  touch and move around. I also thought it might look a little too flat, to be having something 2D, for a 3D feel.

It was cool experimenting with this though, and I’ll still keep testing things out!
