Did some cleaning & substrate stirring in Charis's viv! No poop in her sky hide, she's apparently just been begging for another meal. 😂

This girl is seriously just the BEST snake though. I don't handle her often at all, since she doesn't really care either way. But even after weeks or months of no handling, she's always still a chill sweetie when she's taken out again.

I'm pleased with her viv for the moment as well, though I still have some things I want to add at some point. But she has various levels to explore, multiple substrate textures, a half burrow, a moss box, a sky hide, and a ton of permeable cover to make her feel safe.

Added coconut coir and worm castings to Charis's substrate to increase the depth and hopefully help it retain moisture better. I changed her viv furniture around some too, and added some moss in a couple places as well as more in her humid hide.

She wasn't terribly pleased about being woken up, but she's been checking out wtf I did to her house. Hopefully she'll be happy with it when she settles!

Finally decorated and have Charis in! It's not what I was planning, but it looks pretty decent for now. I'll be redoing it again in a few weeks when the drawers and stuff I ordered come, but I can see how the basking mound holds up in the meantime.

Hard to see with the branches and greenery, but there's an igloo covered with coconut fiber behind the basking mound. On the right side, there's a covered tote hide that will get sphagnum moss added to it, and then a partially buried stump hide in another tote on top of that (which is where she went to hide). Honestly not sure if she'll notice or check out the sky hide since it's bare and Up There, but it's the box on the right on the ceiling. So 6 hides for now, and plenty of nice cover for moving around!

And everything is attached to the top, with zip ties securing the cords. Bottom white bar is an LED light, large middle rectangle is radiant heat panel for ambient heat, right rectangle is the lid for the sky hide, round fixture on the left is fixture & guard for halogen light for basking spot, and top black bar is fixture for 6% forest UVB light.

(Actually I'm pretty sure I have to go back and fix the bulb guard bc I don't think the bulb will fit properly with the fixtures set up as is.... sigh.)
