I think a bunch of fans mistook the japanese word for “theif king” as his first name??

seriously? ....that’s it? i always assumed it was some sort of fan creation to separate him from yami bakura/zorc. 

the mistranslation makes a lot of sense (although i’m somewhat surprised at its continued use), but if it’s the dub thing… that’s a little silly, no offense lmao

dahlia’s motivations don’t exist in a vacuum and i can see how she got from point a to point b fairly easily but she is a RIDICULOUSLY over the top character and also literally nothing she did with the exception of framing and eventually causing the death of terry is justifiable (and im saying this knowing we’re supposed to like….mourn terry, as audience members). actually scratch that stealing from her dad was probably fine. i get the impression she left a trail of bodies behind her larger then we actually like, saw on screen though. 

also while she does care about iris more then she’d ever admit to anyone least of all herself (you can’t feel betrayed by someone you didn’t care about) she’s never done anything in iris’ best interest.
