Personal headcanon: Although Lagorúthon takes after Angulaimë more, he likes Erestor better because the elf is quiet and gentle.

My character is about to be executed. How does your character say goodbye? Defying Pharazon and all the security meant to keep Mairon from his son, he made his way to where Angu was being kept. Mairon breathed hard; he'd been running and fighting off those who'd tried to stop him, but he finally had made it, summoning the small amount of strength he had to burn through the chains binding Angu. He was just in time too, for Angu would be killed soon. Mairon freed him and took a moment to embrace him. He couldn't waste time though -- he could hear men quickly approaching in the hall, determined to stop him and get on with the execution. Mairon was very weak. He had been for a long time now, and it was painful to cast enough magic to break a window in the room. "Angu, go, you must hurry." He kissed his forehead then went to lean against the door to delay the men. He cringed and gasped as a blade pushed through the door and into his back. snake-in-the-shadows
