Monday or Tuesday is going to be interesting.

I’m getting three different packers all at once - the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Junk Closet packers and a Freetom Sleek STP.

I shall forever refer to this day as Dickmas. And it is just in time for prepping for Detroit Satanic Temple’s LIVE Snaketivity on the Lansing Capitol Lawn next Saturday at 8pm (which I am super geeked for). New dicks AND pissed off Christians? What more can a man ask for???

Every year Orochimaru gussies up Otogakure for the last half of October. The Oto Fall Festival gives the otonin and down trodden civilians alike something to look forward to. Despite the terror, the solemness the sannin's dealings bring to the area nobody throws a party like the Giant Snake.

Add some lanterns, a little good will among the rice farmers and fishermen, and the foreboding atmosphere becomes appropriately seasonal. This season may as well have been tailored for Oto as an opportunity to embrace the unique oddity it is to live in the shadow of Orochimaru. Each year it gets a little bigger. More people come from further away. A nice economic jump start for the villagers.

At the start of the festival the doors of the serpent's mansion beyond the edge of town are opened. The superstitious leave shrines in the foyer, the loyal leave gifts, the curious dare each other to cross the threshold. Make no mistake, security is efficient and has many teeth. Earlier years had seen raids into the underground depths of the base by shinobi cells. Those shinobi now populate a rumored Assassin Graveyard...or worse.

Orochimaru is not stupid. He knows it's a risk. He knows the cypress-carved serpent burned in town's center on his birthday is less of a celebration and more of an effigy. But he also knows how to have a little fun.
