Garnet Amphibolite Exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC. According to the accompanying sign, it comes from Gore Mountain, NY, and is 1.1 billion years old, and this metamorphic rock was formed in a collision between North America and another continent; the dark red areas are huge garnet crystals. Some distracting reflections removed using Snapheal.

Alpine Sensation .. [1 / 2] A display in the tunnels connecting the Jungfraujoch railway station to the Top of Europe building that depicts the development of the Alps. Jungfraujoch, BO. A massive blue and white sign labeling the area was removed with Snapheal because it was blown out by the exposure.

Chromatic anti Sunset Sometimes a plane turns about just so to line up perfectly at just the right instant with a landscape of incredible color. This was the view out the window towards the east as the plane came about for a landing at Omaha just as the sun was setting. Of course, the actual scene captured by the camera sensor is dull, grey, and washed out, and it takes a bit of juggling with Luminar to bring out both the low sunlight on the ground, the dusk yonder, and the blue November sky arcing above. You can also see the Anti-crepuscular rays radiating out from near image lower left. Near Red Oak, IA. An interloping segment of a wing had to be removed with Snapheal.
