Review: I combed through the entire bucktommy whump tag to find this fic after I lost it, and while that was a great time (so much delicious pain for my blorbos!) I actually whooped out loud when I found it again via the “Tommy Kinard Takes Care of Evan “Buck” Buckley” tag. And, oh, how he takes care of Buck here. It is so so so good. And Buck sorely needs it, he’s hurting in many ways here: guiltily grieving a loss on a call and dissociating and concussed. The descriptions of Buck dealing (or not so much) with it all are top-tier, very vivid, effective, and unique. This one really stuck with me!

Natasha meant well, but sometimes she could be a lot, and she loved to meddle... which meant when she’d stopped by last week with a mysterious plant, claiming it could predict when Bucky would meet his soulmate, he’d smiled, accepted the gift, and thanked her.

According to the tales, the day the flower of the weird-ass plant bloomed, you were destined to meet your soulmate. Therefore, keeping it alive was very important, as letting it die would be seen as disrespectful.

Honestly, he was surprised it had lived this long. The Barnes family wasn’t known for their green thumbs.

Bucky walked to the windowsill and saw the pot, but there was no plant. No dirt on the windowsill. Not dead… just gone.

Bucky is having a very bad day and meeting his soulmates turned out to be the cherry on the shit sundae that was his day. He struggles with what it all means, not daring to hope that things could just maybe work out in the end. He was just your average computer engineer, after all. Nothing like his soulmates, Iron Man and Captain America.

I just deleted my oldest and most known story, False Hopes from fanfiction. I have been wanting to for a year now, but I haven't had the nerve. I guess the grammar and the story in general just bothered me, that and it was explicit and extremely gory, dark, and violent in a make you puke and cringe back kind of way (I am sure it would have been pulled eventually anyway. I'm actually surprised it never was.)

Jade: Or not. "The dark-haired male then nodded--"

Me: Jade, do vampires have pubic hair?

Jade: Yes, of course they do.

Me: Does it grow back if cut? Or are they left permanently bald if they shave?

Jade: Well, I don't think it would grow back.

Me: Oh, just wondering.

Jade: Back to the story then. "So Laurent and Victoria ..." Huh.

Me: What?

Jade: Just thinking that Laurent and Lauren would be a great pairing.

Me: They would be like Pinky and the Brain. Lauren would so be pinky.

Jade: Yeah. I loved that show.

Me: It was awesome ... Pinky and the Brain. Pinky and the brain. La la la la Pinky and the Brain.

Jade: I want to go watch it now.

Me: Isn't it awesome how in 10 seconds of working again we managed to start talking about cartoons? We rock.

Jade: We do. It's the shared brain.

Me: Yeah.
