Do you think it's possible the writers may introduce a version of Len from a different earth I mean if Wentworth Miller does come back to the Arrowverse next season i don't have much hope left but I am glad that Len's Fandom is there I honestly don't know what I do without it:)
I sort of refuse to engage in hope-mongering, sorry Anon. Keep in mind I’m a bit of a pessimist about all this though.
My personal belief is that we aren’t going to see Len at all next season. I mean, I would LOVE to be wrong, but the Legends S2 send off really felt like a send off, a “goodbye” and a closing on that door, and it looks like Barry returning Len to the timeline at the end of 3x22 is probably going to feel similar.
Also, we haven’t heard anything about whether Wentworth Miller has signed a contract for the next season or not, so I’m assuming he hasn’t (yet). We know that John Barrowman won’t be returning but that Katie Cassidy will, giving us some insight into the fact that these contracts are being negotiated. It’s likely they’re waiting until after 3x22 to give us details on whether WM will or won’t be returning. If he’s not, it would be a bad marketing move for them to tell us before the episode airs, and if he is, then then telling us after the episode gives it more “oomf”.
So we’ll likely know more in a week.
If they introduce a version from another Earth, I would not expect him to be a series regular or even recurring. We might get an allusion to what Leonard Snart from Earth-19 is like, or what the mayor on Earth 2 is up to, or a cameo of an alt-Snart if we’re lucky, but it’s not like Tom C., who they seem determined to create a new version of for each season. The writers and producers must know that fans are wedded to “their” (our) Captain Cold, after all this time. And introducing an alternate him is a bit odd given the team’s relationship to him (but a cameo, like E2 Deadshot? Might be up their sleeve).
I would say that if we’re going to get an “alternate” version of him at some point in the future, I might wish for a version of him from the “time cop” Rogues that were in one story arc (Commander Cold and the Renegades from the 25th Century, arresting Barry for a crime he hadn’t committed yet, due to time travel lmao - Flash Vol. 3 #1 2010). Something like that except from a dimension-hopping perspective instead of a time travel one would be kind of hilarious, especially because then they could keep the same actor for Cold. Or maybe the Commander Cold would be a clone of Len from the future? (We could hit two birds with one stone on the snart-baiting list!)
So... I doubt it, but just because I’m a cynic doesn’t mean you have to be, and doesn’t mean the fandom can’t continue to explore these ideas anyway, or that it’s impossible that any number of versions of Snart could reappear in future Flash seasons in some form or another.
So you think we've got another speed force version of Len instead of actual len?
Highly doubtful. this is the theory I’m most certain can’t be right, actually, for a few reasons.
1) The episode description doesn’t say Barry is going into the speedforce to ask the speedforce for help, he’s asking Leonard for help. He can’t get Len’s help from inside the speedforce, because that’s not really Len in there, just an apparition in a form the speedforce thought was appropriate to fight Barry in and then call him out with.
2) Why would Barry ask the speedforce for help considering what happened to him last time in there? Dude’s gotta save Jay still but that’s likely an end-of-season issue.
3) The sizzle reel promo shows Len interacting with other characters like Lyla and seeing King Shark. The speedforce typically takes the form of 1-2 people at a time at most, and there’s no reason why a speedforce apparition would be in a scene watching Lyla take out two guards, especially because Barry isn’t in that scene and the speedforce doesn’t have to guard itself from... itself?
(similarly, this Len can’t be a hologram because he’s instructing Barry / the team, which he can’t and wouldn’t do with pre-programmed lines, really)
alright, anyone else have a sense of impending doom for tonight? just me? okay
