Danganronpa Daemons AU
Celestia Ludenberg and Chance (eyelash pit viper)
Eyelash vipers are solitary and independent, interacting with others only when necessary and otherwise depending on themselves. They are extremely adaptable, having a vast range that covers several different biomes, as well as practical, eating whatever prey comes their way. Their hunting style is pragmatic, favouring ambushes, and often depends on knowledge of their prey’s habits and behaviour.
*It must be the creatures again, for some of the birds flew from the trees branches in sudden arousal. Nothing to be worried about. Nonetheless, in curiosity a peek up into the branches is done and an unfamiliar creature catches the attention.*
*It worms alongside the smaller branches to the mighty stem and slowly down towards the ground.*
“What a curious thing…”
Their eyes track the creature’s movement with calm attentiveness, not alarm. It moves like a root searching for a better patch of soil—certain in its purpose.
“I haven’t seen one of your kind before,” they murmur, half to the creature, half to the trees. “But you are certainly unafraid. I wonder, does that make you very foolish, or very brave…?”
They crouch near the base of the tree, not reaching out, simply offering proximity as an invitation. Wind lifts their coat hem in gentle flicks. As the purple creature reaches the base of the tree, Verdant tilts their head, curious.
“Are you seeking shelter? Or simply passing through…?” The snake like thing simply continues its steady crawl. “I should probably inform you that not all parts of this grove are as welcoming as others…”
The snake-like thing continues its descent, heedless, gliding across the roots with the ease of something born to wilderness. Verdant watches it slither past their boots without so much as a flicker of recognition.
“Though I don’t think you care, either way.”
They remain crouched, still watching, though their hands now return to the earth—lightly brushing a nearby patch of moss as if resettling their own roots. The creature fades into the underbrush, unconcerned. Verdant exhales once, slowly, and the grove folds quiet around them again.
“All things great and small I suppose…”
