Eren and Historia’s friendship is so pure and beautiful. I find that they really helped each other out so many times ever since their first real conversation and that Historia supported Eren in a lot of ways that Armin and Mikasa didn’t because she understands things about him that they don’t.

Listen... I don’t like the slaughter of innocents or proactive retaliatory violence any more than the next person, but before we give Eren too much grief over the merciless... whatever he has become and for convincing his dad to do murder... let’s not forget who it was that convinced him it was necessary in the first place. We can see by Chapter 115 -- though in context he’s trying to convince Zeke it’s dad’s thinking and not his -- that he really internalized this idea:

...but he didn’t come up with it. Look how shocked he is in Ch. 67 at Historia’s point of view.

I think Historia has had an incredible amount of influence on the development of Eren’s character, particularly around this time period. When he was despairing in the cave, ready to give up, she brought him back to himself, to believe that there was purpose in fighting a system -- all systems, really -- and fighting for individual freedoms, love, and life. They’re both rebellious in their own ways and have no love for failed institutions, yet place incredible value on personal relationships.

You know... the first time Eren used his hardening powers, he actually made structures not unlike the ones the Warhammer can create. We’ve never seen Zeke or Annie pull something like that off though. So I wonder whether the Warhammer’s ability actually stems from the contents of the Armour bottle. 

Either way, I don’t think it’s their original ability because the Warhammer is honestly way too overpowered compared to the rest of the titans. I think Marley enhanced the abilities of the ones they had whereas if you look at the Founding and Attack, they’re pretty plain and simple. The royal family never saw the need for the Founding to have any offensive strategies, so despite having the means to do so, they never made use of those bottles, while the Attack Titan was always off on its own so it never had access to any of that until the cave scene. 

My personal headcanon is that Nine Original Titans were pretty simple in that they just had the features implied by their names and didn’t possess the same abilities we see today. That came later with experimentation or something. 

P.S. One of the main reasons why I think this is the case is the Jaw Titan. Just look at the differences between Ymir and Porco. I think the hardening power is just something that is applied to the current shifter. Since it’s not part of the original powers, it’s not passed on from person to person. So even if Marcel had the ability, that’s why Ymir’s titan didn’t. Whereas for Porco, he had access to those add-ons and that’s why he looks the way he does.
