Episodes 91 & 92

It’s raining meeeen! 

Ok, this one was easy. But what the hell? So, now they don’t just toss the people/titans on the Paradis Island, they throw them out of a plane? Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Although, it does explain why the titans on the island have all been (or almost) wiped out - if they don’t send new ones anymore, that makes sense. 

Also, planes? Tanks? Not sure I like that but I suppose I’ll get over it. 

Lots of new characters here. Well kids. Fighting in a war. Again, what the hell? Ok, so it’s not new. Eren, Mikasa and cie are pretty much kids, or at least they were when they joined the cadets corps but this one bothers me a lot more. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the planes and tanks and whatever that makes it a whole lot more real suddenly and it makes me uncomfortable. Also why give the titan powers to children? And let’s talk about the titan trio for a moment. Annie, Bert and Reiner received their titan powers, hooray good for them. But then they were just sent away from home, in a land that they believed were filled with monsters and their mission was to infiltrate said monsters to destroy them (and get the original titan back). AND NO ONE THERE STOPPED ONE DAMN MINUTE TO THINK : “OKAY THOSE ARE KIDS, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG LOL” I mean it didn’t turn particularly good for any of them : Annie has been taken prisoner, we all know what happened to Bert (yes, I am still bitter) and Reiner is a bloody mess. Those mighty Marley warrior never thought that maybe it was the reason why their plan had failed in the first place? Nooooo, let’s just take more children and turn them into titans. Maybe there is a good reason for them choosing kids and I’m just ranting for nothing but I needed to say it. 

Anyway. The new kids then. I’m trying not to get too attached to any of them because it’ll probably hurt a lot if I do. And I know I won’t manage to stay detached because my heart is too big and easily broken and I should go and buy more comfort food. Why did I even start this fandom in the first place? (just kidding, I love this fandom, I guess I must like to suffer)

The jaw titan. Kind of cool, hidden child of the armoured and beast titan. Also he looks like the Beast from X-Men and I’m imagining him blue (I’ll be disappointed when this gets animated)

And last but not least (always keep the best for the end) : 

Reiner is alive and well (well physically at least, because you can’t tell me he doesn’t have mental after-effects of his time on the island and the last fight with the scouts (AND BERT)). And I like the new look. And I don’t know it felt kind of reassuring to see him among all those unfamiliar faces (I don’t count Zeke as a familiar face, let alone reassuring because BLUH) and unfamiliar settings (the planes, damnit!). Well that is, until he got his ass kicked. Again. #letreinerhavesomepeaceandhappiness

Why do you think that people like the new kids and even cheer Gabi into becoming the next Marley titan when they hated Annie, Bertolt and Reiner?

Mostly because Gabi has the same attitude as Eren and was presented as the true brainwashed kid who was high on Marlean propaganda and who needs the MCs to open her eyes about how things work and possibly have her side with them to free them from oppression because Marley is so ~evil~.

And also because she hasn’t hurt their faves yet and isn’t given yet an excuse for ~plot armor~ whereas that joke has been made countless times with Reiner. That’s always a plus.

I’m mostly talking about Gabi here but Falco was more liked thanks to this new chapter. He really fits the profile of the cinammon roll who was thrown in a conflict against his will while having no particular qualities unlike Gabi who treated warfare as a way to score points to become the hero who vanquished on Paradis.
