La excesiva necesidad de ser libre de Eren Jaeger (SNK) se debe a su unhealthy Fi o Ni? (o el eneagrama 6 contrafobico?) Me gustaría si puedes explicarlo :)

Mira te desgloso a Eren resumidamente:

La excesiva necesidad de ser libre es Fi dominante, lo que haces para conseguirlo es lo que determina si eres más o menos healthy.

Ni entra en loop con Fi cuando Eren empieza a tener una visión distorsionada del mundo, su objetivo, tu deber etc. Fi-Ni provoca una "visión túnel" en la que solo ve lo que él quiere ver. Se combina Fi (quiero ser libre para hacer lo que me de la gana a toda costa) + Ni (tengo que conseguir que el mundo sea así como me he propuesto) y claro, pasa lo que pasa. No escucha a nadie más y además es propenso a desarrollar cierta paranoia.

cp6 es lo que le hace ir directamente contra todo lo que en realidad le aterra (los titanes primero, y después Marley etc). Llega un punto que para mí, Eren está como "narcotizado", hace las cosas como en piloto automático, por "deber" y porque si él demuestra que es fuerte y no tiene miedo, entonces no lo tendrá, por eso arrasa con todo.

Snk and mbti

Since I’m a big fan of Snk and of the Mbti theory, I thought of sharing my opinions on some of their personality. This is very short and silly but maybe when I’ll be less lazy I’ll try to write something more detailed.

Don’t be afraid to tell me your opinion too!

 Eren Jaeger:

ISFP

I think that his Se/Fi vibes are quite clear. He’s the demonstration of how insane an Fi can go if he starts thinking that he’s the one who’s right while the others are wrong. Being an Isfp myself, in period of stress I know how disastrous could go an Se (I have to act now) with inferior Te (everyone is incompetent). His Ni has helped him to cling to his goal, but Ni has also the power to make you think that the future will be horrible and without hope.

 Mikasa Ackerman:

ISTJ

Everyone more or less agrees on her being a Isxj, but I think that she uses Te instead of Fe. She follows the orders and respects her superiors (when they don’t kick Eren lol). Also when she thought that Eren was dead she had her two minutes of badassery, claiming that she was the strongest while the other kids were useless. That is a very Te behaviour. Tertiary Fi I think that is very developped: she’s ready to do anything for the people who are dear to her.

 Armin Arlet:

INFJ

The boy is smart and has a high level of intuition. He always thinks about his friends first and tries to solve problems first “emotionally” (he tries to talk with Berthold, he thinks that they may solve their problems diplomatically etc.) but later he comes up with mind blowing plans (Ni-Ti power).

 Levi Ackerman:

ISTP

He’s a logical guy, but he has a personal and free logic that he doesn’t feel the need to share or impose on others (as Te would do). Se is very up too and not just because he’s a skilled soldier but because he’s quick to react to a present situation and he’s very concerned with what is around him (from his obsession for cleaning to his love for high quality tea etc.). Ni is not one of his main functions. He wanted to get out of the Underground City, but he didn’t seem to have a real plan to realise it (as an upper Ni would). Also his fascination in Erwin’s mind and ideals could be a sign of Ni’s passion for the unknown and the inexplicable.

The main stress source for him (and the others lol) is his lack of social skill. Anyway he’s concerned with the people around him and he awkwardly tries to reassure or protect them (Erwin, Hanji, Eren…)

 Erwin Smith:

ENTJ

Commander handsome has brought many changes to the SC. He’s not only a master of control but someone who can innovate. He’s also very intuitive, future and goal-oriented man (as Levi said he can see further than him).

His weakness is his inferior-Fi that quietly controlled all his actions and he carefully tries to hide it behind the mask of the perfect leader.

 Hanji Zoe:

ENTP

Our scientist sees possibilities everywhere and make them real thanks to her amazing brain. Her Ti allows her to come up with original ideas.

Her tertiary Fe shows from time to time, usually when she’s not doing her science stuff, but often she can become even oblivious of other people (Eren may say something about that) if she’s focused on her experiments. Her lack of self care can be a sign of Inferior-Si.

Just for fun, let me guess the MBTI personality types of Marley warriors.

Falco: INFJ so much it actually hurts. Lovely baby boy.

Gabi: ESTP aka the opposite of Falco’s type xD why am I not surprised at all?

Udo: IxFx, ISFP perhaps R.I.P.

Zofia: IxTx, ISTP or ISTJ… R.I.P.

Colt: ESFJ I guess, the Marley version of Hannes. T___T

Pieck: seems INTP to me, like Armin.

Marcel is ESFJ, clear like the blue sky. When Reiner acts like an ESFJ, it’s because of Marcel. *sobs* Reiner is ESTJ in my opinion and I’ve seen others type him that as well. His split personality and emotional break downs are caused by the fact that Thinkers doesn’t handle emotions, especially intense ones well. (Traumas, neuroticity and psychopatology are not MBTI stuff, though.)

Zeke is not new but he’s INTJ. period

Teo Magath: I’m not good at typing leaders, really. ESTJ? He’s not innovative enough to be an intuitive type, so…

And don’t leave out the old Bertholdt and Annie out of the party at the end.

Bertholdt is hard to type. He’s mainly typed as ISFP but he was naive and innocent enough to consider him INFP. ISFP’s are quite popular among others, and since I consider Eren an ISFP (fight me twice if you want, he’s not extravert at all), I can’t type Bertholdt as such so I leave him as an INFP. :p (my logic sucks since I’m an INFP too, lol.)

Annie is mainly considered to be an ISTP but why? XD Based on her fighting skills? She was forced into it. She made her father proud so she decided to be proud of her abilities, plus self-defence is useful so, it was worthy for her. She’s observant and she went with the flow but she did it, because she had to. Do you know who are the ones who do that too if needed? INTJs. They act like as if they were “normal” people in order to protect themselves. Plus they always question everything and Annie in fact, did that all the time. “Reiner, we’ve been here for almost 5 years, what should we do now?”, “Reiner, all of your friends might just die, you know.”, “Reiner, there’s no chance to fulfil our mission without Marcel!”, “The whole system in Paradis is stupid, can’t you see?”, “Special people can’t rule the world because it would be bad.”, “Should I seduce some of their men? Nah, it won’t work because of reasons, one of them is that I’m not sexy enough…” okay I’m kidding, but ISTPs don’t analyze things to such depths as Annie did, I’m sure. She is smart but lazy, because she wasn’t interested in the whole mission, the only thing that mattered was fulfilling it. it’s also fitting for INTJs. Unlike INTPs, finding the best solution for a problem is not neccessary to INTJs. Reaching the goal is more important. That’s why Annie failed. She couldn’t think of all opportunities and possible outcomes, and on top of that, she constantly questioned her succes, her morality, she considered Marleyans and Eldians stupid, etc. She wished to have a goal like the ones whom she admired, but the only thing she had was her father. INTJs seem like people with no feelings at all, but deep down they feel and Annie showed multiple times that she’s not heartless. Others also noticed how she sucked at lying.Yeah, because she’s not an ISTP regardless how hard she tried to pretend to be one. INTJ is a classic type for misunderstood antagonists, and if Annie’s an INTJ, it means she shares the same type with Zeke. It doesn’t seem far-fetched at all if they both betray Marley in the end, lol.

We don’t know enough of the Tyburs nor Kiyomi so I let them be anything. Willy-Billy Wonka Tybur is a feeler for sure. XD

P.S: Mikasa is ISFJ, not a thinker, regardless how skilled she is, she’s the one who understands other’s feelings and herself the most, she always analyzes relationships, she’s worried about people to a great extent, thus considering her a thinker simply because she’s serious and has a cold gaze is not right. She’s become like that because of what happened to her. Levi is ISTJ, he’s not intuitive, and he’s not a perceiver, sure. He would be a lone wolf if he wasn’t special, and if he himself wasn’t attracted to special people and their minds as well. He’s not innovative, he trusted everything what Erwin said and done (same goes for Hanji), he never knew what having a dream was like, his way of thinking is always about facts, not possibilities or theories. There is no “But why or why not?” in his mind, like in Annie’s. Big difference.

Sorry for the long rant, I can be completely wrong, fight mee. :D

Why do you think people picture Armin as an INTP rather than an INFJ?

Very intriguing question, anon; I hope you don’t mind if I go nuts with it.

Personally, I go with both. I strongly believe people are the product of their past experiences, and are always subject to change because of it. I think that someone can grow up to be one personality type, and slowly pick up other contrasting traits as situations change, and I feel that’s very true for Armin.

It’s hard to use MB Types in a discussion without coming across as generalizing, and I don’t think that pulling an example out of the air is enough to prove a point, but I will pull out some typical strong points for each type to make things clearer.

INFJ

Determined and passionate. INFJ personalities work very hard for causes they believe in. This passion can easily surprise people not used to seeing this side of the INFJ, but it is an inseparable part of their personality.

Inspiring and convincing. People with the INFJ personality type have a way with words and are known for their fluid, inspirational writing style. INFJs can also be convincing speakers, especially if they are talking about something they are very proud of or passionate about.

INTP

Great analysts and abstract thinkers. INTP personalities are great at noticing patterns and seeing the big picture. They also possess an impressive ability to jump from one idea to another, linking them in ways that usually bewilder most other personality types.

Objective. People with the INTP personality are very logical and rational individuals who see no point in involving emotions in the decision-making process. Consequently, they tend to pride themselves in being fair and impartial.

As an almost cliche INFJ, my argument is slightly biased, but I believe Armin is an INFJ because I see characteristics in him that I strongly relate to, and so rarely see in fiction.

I think people see him as an INTP because he’s the strategist. He’s level headed and good at drawing conclusions and making plans. And both FJs and TPs are generally good at making friends, so it’s hard to type him based on his personal life.

I think that Armin is an INFJ because of his motives. He is a brilliant strategist and problem solver, which is very distinctly INTP, but he doesn’t do things purely because they make sense, he does things because he believes in them.

Take his speech to protect Eren and Mikasa from Kitts Verman after Trost; he didn’t cooly and calmly explain his reasoning to the garrison, he bared his emotions and made his points with passion, more strongly than he could have with reason alone.

Or soon before then, when Armin was trying to get Eren to fight in his Titan form. Sure, Armin and Eren’s friendship probably had a lot to do with the weight his message carried, but there was so much conviction in his words, and Eren isn’t the type to do something because he thinks it makes the most sense, in my mind he’s guided by his emotions. Armin laying out the plain facts wouldn’t have done squat to get him riled up. I think it was the enthusiasm he put into what he said that stirred the fire in Eren. I think, in that part of his life, Armin is very INFJ. 

But as the story progresses and Armin has to make tougher choices, I don’t think he truly put aside his feelings for a second. I don’t think he can. I think he looked past them to form the best plans possible, which is where the TP comes in. He’s changing. Be it good or bad writing, he’s very different than he used to be. He’s had to push away his own feelings for the good of mankind. 

Now, I hope it doesn’t seem like I think of TPs as cold, I actually personally have more Rational than Feeling friends, so I just think TPs and FJs have very different motives. TPs do something because it makes sense. FJs do things because they feel it’s right. It’s not just a strong moral compass, it’s their emotional basis for decision making. 

And most importantly, MB types are not an exact science. There is no ‘right’ type for any character, unless they’ve sat down and taken the test themselves. It’s all up to what people see the characters as. Naturally, I feel Armin as an INFJ because I see in him what I see in myself and other FJs, but others probably feel the same way about Armin and their own type.

There are also probably more knowledgeable people out there with a more concise answer, but while it pains me to admit it, I don’t know everything. So if you completely disagree with me, thats perfectly fine, we’re all different, otherwise there wouldn’t be 16 types.
