Snorlax had been having a hard time lately, something his trainer could only recognize as stress. Half assed biting at his paws, itching very badly on one certain place: a spot on his tummy.
The spot had gotten patchy and the skin beneath was reddening with every scratch of Kabigon’s sharp, short stubby claws on his paw. The trainer– She noticed Snorlax's behavior recently, and as the empath she was, decided she absolutely needed to figure out why her best (and favorite) Pokèmon was so distressed.
She had done countless amounts of research, looking up different variations of the same questions.
All research answers pointed to one solution.
Your Snorlax may be feeling lonely in the natural sense. All sorts of animals, in this case, pokèmon- and even humans get to a certain point in their lives where they just want to settle down with a mate and have offspring. Try finding your Snorlax a lifelong partner to produce eggs with. Best of luck, readers.
Well, now that she's got her answer… but how on EARTH was she gonna find a female Snorlax? The male to female ratio was uneven. The chances of a female Snorlax were only 12.7 percent, meaning for every eight Snorlaxes you might encounter, only one would likely be female.
The trainer felt stuck. She loved her Snorlax to death, yes, of course she did. So she did what any other trainer would do, no matter if it was hard to accomplish or not.
The search was long and grueling. Every Snorlax she came across was male– except one. As soon as she had made sure, she beamed with something a little stronger than glee, passionate ecstacy. She quickly grabbed a pokèball and gently tossed it towards the female Snorlax– It took a couple of tries, but eventually the female was caught.
In a hurry, the trainer sprinted back to her abode, where her Snorlax lay in the back yard, still mindlessly scratching. She greeted him with a huge smile.
“Snorlax, get up, big guy! I’ve got something for you,” She said as her Snorlax gently sat up, a deep rumbling sound emitting from his chest. The trainer threw the pokèball, and out came a big, round, female Snorlax, just for him.
They stared at each other for a while– Both of their ears twitched, while Snorlax let out a small grumble in greeting to the female, a soft “snoooorrrr..” rumbling through his chest. She gave a shy “..lax.” back to him. She took a step forward towards the male snorlax, sniffing the air around him, her large stomach occasionally bumping his. She shifted, not rushing or showing hostility, just existing and waiting for him to make the next move. Snorlax began to sniff the air around her, mimicking what she was doing earlier to get a better whiff of her, trying to determine if she is dangerous or not.
Once the sniff test was over, Kabigon shifted his massive body and sat down, his large paws resting in front of him. The female then didn't hesitate to throw herself down next to him with a soft whump. For a moment they just sat there, staring– two large gentle creatures who could’ve ignored each other but didn't.
After a few weeks of getting closer, the female had produced and laid an egg. They were a family now! Kabigon and the female watched the eggs like a hawk. (I mean, when they weren't sleeping.) They spent days waiting for their egg to finally hatch… And when it did, both the male and female were over the moon.
Now, they had a few munchlaxes running around. Tiny, loud, but still as lazy as their parents. They crawled on top of their mother and father, eating and playing amongst siblings.. The trainer sat close, petting each of the munchlaxes as many times as she could have. It was peaceful. Kabigon’s stress itch had gone away completely, the fur wasn't patchy, instead getting even thicker than before.
