as much as i love 2/2 more than anything, part of me wishes we were given more in relation to how ren deals with the fact akechi is essentially about to die forever, for the second time. i want to see more of ren’s inner turmoil about saving akechi vs saving everyone else.

post canon shuake’s relationship is one of my favourite things to think about. particularly how each of the phantom thieves react to the fact their leader Literally got with the enemy
i think futaba and akechi have grounds for a really interesting post canon relationship, futabas closest confidant, her basically-brother, committing the rest of his life to the man that basically ruined hers. i think there’s no need for forgiveness between them — futaba doesn’t need to excuse him, but she needs to learn to accept him. perhaps futaba subconsciously holds this against ren, only a little, only in her deepest compartmentalisted thoughts

ahh thank you!! i have many shuake thoughts everyday so i have an abundance of snippets and drafts in my google docs so i will share at random.
i really really like post canon shuake (as i've posted about Many times), so i started writing about post canon akechi struggling with accepting that ren actually loves him, that he isn't secretly holding a grudge against him for everything that happened in the past and that he really does still love him despite it all.
i also like to think that ren is very subconsciously worried too that akechi is just going to Up and leave, that hes not real. i think they have a very Complicated and codependant realtionship still many years after canon.
