Scarabcinder was an apprentice at 26 moons old?? Do medicine cats just require more time to learn or was she held back?

She wasn't made a full healer, really. She got her name at 29 moons.

Kinda complicated reason! Tallclan cats followed a very old prophecy given to them by starclan. The prophecy revolved around a family of cats with pointed pelts who would lead the clan to safety.

Tallclan was segregatory over non-pointed cats. This means that cats like Salamanderspeckle and Scarabcinder were treated very differently than the majority of the cats in the clan, who were color-point.

Here is Scarabpaw and her former mentor.

Tortiseeye was staunchly against letting Scarabpaw be a full healer. Spiderblink, being the deputy, had to fight to give her her healer name.

Spiderblink also chose her name for her.

So happy to see Owlheart graduate, I remember when they were just a kitten. A little sad Spiderstar changed their prefix from Owlet to Owl but I guess it made sense since Owlheart isn’t exactly a baby anymore

Here's a few facts about Owl!

Owlheart is the second best hunter in the clan, and enjoys providing prey for the cats that don't hunt! They often bring specific prey to their clanmates! Their favorite is birds.

Their favorite flower is tulips :3 If they could, they would adorn their pelt with Tulip petals.

Owlheart secretly remembers the taste of the wet food that Two-legs used to give them, and sometimes wishes that they could have just one bite for old times sake.

Owl also came out as non-binary a few moons later than this per-clangen, I just wanted Them to be non-binary by their warriors ceremony because my notes were confusing me haha. (Labeled as he/him in earlier notes and They/them in later ones. )

Flarefoot doesn't believe in Starclan, though she wants to.

To go along with that, her biggest fear is death. She was close once, and it brought her no peace.

If it's not inappropriate to ask, did Mapleface want Salamanderspeckle to perhaps surrogate kits for her or am I reading that panel wrong? And if so, is there a reason why he refused? Like there's the probably obvious one, of course, but the "Owletpaw will be my only kit" makes me wonder if there isn't something more to it.

I'll touch on this more later, so a lil spoiler warning here.

The biggest reason is that Salamanderspeckle doesn't want to sire kits without being a father to them and he doesn't want to co-parent with Mapleface.

He'll explain much better later in the comic, as it becomes a bit of a point of contention within the clan.
