Sunday Snippet

Just because why not here’s a bit of a blurb from the next chapter of one of my fics from Snowells 2020, and some art to go with it. It’s a little shorter than six sentences, but it’s just a bit of a tease. I’m really close to finishing it, but the ending is being quite difficult. 

Title: Open Mind For A Different View

Summary: Day 4 - Psychic Bond. Takes place during the beginning of season 5. Separated by universes, both Caitlin and Harry begin to experience some strange things about each other.

Chapter 2 title: Couldn't Be Much More From the Heart

“There’s no other explanation, at least not one that I can think of. Now, granted, I’m not the intellect I used to be, but just hear me out--” Harry ran his hand over his head, and Caitlin found herself wondering what it would feel like to have him play with her hair. He visibly shuddered, dropping his fumbling hands. "Yes, I think it's quite clear there's something different."

SnowWells Week 2020 - Masterpost!!!

Aaaaand we’re done with another year of Snowells filled awesomeness of an event!!! I am absolutely thrilled at how wonderful this year turned out to be, with so many new works from so many fans, new and old! The fandom is still going so strong even all these years later and I wouldn’t have been able to organize something like this if it weren’t for all of you - the writers, the artists, the commenters, the cheerleaders, each and every one of you made this Snowells week another memorable one!!! Thank You!!!!

However, it would be remiss of me to not mention the most important person’s contributions to the event, without whom, we literally would have stalled towards the end of the week - due to an almost unexpected surprise, 48 hours before day 6 I was called back into work and it was because of my partner in crime, fellow Snowellsian and co-admin of this blog, @ageless-aislynn​ stepping up to help me keep the queue/reblogs going, we were able to have a completely seamless event, so thank you Aislynn!!! Without you the week wouldn’t have been half as successful as it was!!! 💛❤️

Snowells Week Day 5: Star-crossed Lovers The Hunger Games AU

District 12: Catlin Snow and Harrison “Harry” Wells At the 75th anniversary of the Hunger games, the revolution began. Poor districts decided to overthrow the power of the rich. Here is only two lovers from 12 district not was this need, but will fate one has become the face of revolution, and the other the face of a rich nobility. Although the only thing they want is to be together far away from here.

- I left him, I left him. I should have stayed with him and come what may! - Caitlin, don't even think about it. We need you more than ever. - I don't care what you want, Barry! I don't need this war, I don't need this revolution. I was living a normal life until you thought I was perfect for the Mockingbird image! - There's nothing you can do! Now you are divided. He protects them! Elevates the status of the first districts! - He was forced! He was forced. And if you so want this victory, then you need my condition. Give me back Harry, and I'll do what I need to do. - I Agree.

Snowells Week 2020 Day 2: Marriage of Convenience AU

“I’m sorry Dr. Snow but without those papers, you’ll have to be deported. You can reapply in a year but until then there’s nothing else we can do.”

To say Caitlin was angry was an understatement. She was beyond furious. She did everything she was supposed to do. She spent countless hours filling out all the paperwork. Waited close to a year for it to all be processed. But somehow, someway, because someone else lost it, she was being deported back to Canada. She’d have to leave her family, her friends, her work, everything.

“I really am sorry Dr. Snow,” her attorney said as he went to stand, “but I really do need to be going now. Maybe if you’re not engaged with anything later I can buy you a drink?”

Engaged. The word echoed so loudly in her head she didn’t even bother to think about the fact that her immigration attorney was not so subtly hitting on her. The next words sprang out of her mouth before she could control herself.

“I’m engaged.”

“Oh well, maybe some other time-”

“With someone,” she continued, “I’m engaged to someone.”

Stop now, her conscience yelled at her, you can still turn back.

Her attorney looked at her as if she grew a second head and promptly sat back down in his chair.

“Look, you don’t have to lie-”

“I’m not,” she lied quickly. If her conscience had a physical form she probably would have smacked Caitlin upside the head.

“To who?”

“Harrison Wells.”

“Me?” Harry exclaimed in confusion as Caitlin finished her story. She shook her head slightly and after a moment of awkward silence, she chanced a look at his face. She saw a mix of shock and confusion and she desperately wished time travel was real so she could go back in time and stop herself from doing this to him.

“Harry, I am so sorry, I didn’t know what I was thinking. I-”

“Why me?” he whispered suddenly.

“What?” Now it was her turn to be shocked and confused.

“Why me?” he asked slightly louder this time, “There are so many other people you could have named. You get along with almost everyone here at Star Labs and have an abundance of friends and more than a few people who are interested in you so... why me?”

Why had she said Harry? Caitlin had been wondering that since she said it out loud to her attorney and all the way back on her drive to Star Labs. At first, she told herself it was just in the spur of the moment but then she really thought about it. She thought about all those times she had worked late with him on a project and how much she genuinely enjoyed his company. She thought of how she tended to gravitate towards him if no one else was around and of how much she loved listening to him about anything. She thought about how much he had comforted her when it felt like everything was going wrong in her life and how she never felt uncomfortable showing that part of herself. She thought about how much she missed him when he went away and how sometimes she would selfishly wish he could stay. She thought about all the little things he did that would make her smile. 

She thought, she thought, she thought. Then she realized. There were a million reasons why she chose him. She could tell him all of this right now, she should actually, but she decided to go with something safer.

“Because I trust you,” she told him earnestly. At the unreadable expression on his face, she sighed. She really should tell him the truth but she decided to take the cowards way out.

“I really am sorry Harry. Look I’ll call my attorney and tell him the truth,” she began as she went to stand up.

“I have a bit of time before I have to leave the country, I’ll work on everything I still have until then but I-”

“I’ll do it, Snow,” Harry told her softly. He then stood up and walked around his desk until he was standing right in front of her.

“I’ll marry you.”

Caitlin and Harry have been working together at Star Labs for a while and things are going good for both of them until Caitlin’s Visa paperwork gets lost. In an effort to keep her here, Harry agrees to marry Caitlin after she tells her immigration attorney that she’s engaged to him. The two of them work together to get this marriage of convenience underway but as the date of the wedding gets closer they start to realize that there might be more to all of this than it just being convenient.
