Do you think you’ll ever experience an afterlife
She blinked, her stare wide and blank, as though the possibility of an afterlife not existing was unheard of. “We all will experience an afterlife. It is as certain as the sun’s rise over your sky. All souls, including yours, were born from the stars, and someday will return to them.”
Her gaze shifted from Hytherm, the neutral light twisting into burning hatred as she focused on the darkening atmosphere. “Whether it will be what the Earth children call Heaven or Hell, however, is something that cannot be answered as clearly. Some seem to find peace in those who light our paths in life, while for others…”
What is one thing about the world you’ve come to appreciate?
Her thoughts violently tore towards his second question, something far more comfortable to ponder upon. “I suppose it’s life’s persistence. Your world is loud, it ripples with the voices of many lives. Lives carrying joy, sorrow, hope.” There was a pause then, but she didn’t allow herself to dwell on the last word.
“From the most fragile seedling, to the thundering lizards, everything has the determination to fight against death’s darkness. The darkness is as massive as the night, yet all of this world doesn’t give up. They can’t give up.” Something sparked in her mind at that realization. Perhaps these aliens: this planet’s nature, the Eartherlings and Hytherm himself… weren’t so alien as she initially thought.
