You can take the girl out of Miami but the girl will still wear her flip flops. But seriously, I didn’t mean to wear sandals in the snow. We went for a walk along the creek and it was warm and sunny, surprisingly so. At first there was no snow on the path but then after we walked for awhile it appeared suddenly. The choice was either to lightly tip toe over the snowy patch or turn back. I didn’t want to turn back and I could see that up ahead there was no more snow. So I braved the wet cold patch with my Florida shoes and was just fine for it. Now I don’t recommend this to anyone and I must say that I am now inspired to find the perfect pair of winter boots because I will certainly be back to these beautiful mountains.
