The pulsating beats of the club’s music filled the air as you and Vinnie danced and laughed, lost in the vibrant energy of the night. It was getting late and at this point you had been out all night.
"Ready to go?" Vinnie asked placing a hand on your back.
You turned to face Vinnie with hazy eyes while you weren't drunk you still had some alcohol in your system. "Yeah, I'm ready".
Vinnie held his hand out for you and once yours was tightly around his, he made his way through the sea of people blocking your exit guiding the both of you. While it was not a long journey, the bodies blocking your path made it difficult and your feet, encased in stylish but unforgiving heels, were starting to throb with each step. You tried to push through, but the discomfort was becoming unbearable.
He gently guided you towards the exit, his arm around your waist for support. As the two of you walked, Vinnie noticed you wincing and offered a comforting smile. Outside the club, the cool night air felt refreshing after the heat of the dance floor.
When you reached the car, Vinnie paused and looked at your shoes. “Why don’t you sit here for a moment?” he suggested, helping you into the passenger seat.
As you sat down, Vinnie took off his own shoes and crouched in front of her. “Here, put these on. They might not a little big, but they’ll be more comfortable than what you've got.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to take your shoes.”
“It’s no trouble,” Vinnie assured her, gently placing his shoes by her feet. “I wouldn't be a good boyfriend if I let you suffer in those ridiculous things.”
You both chuckled, playfully slapping his arm - he was right, but you won't admit that to him. With a grateful smile, you slipped your feet into his shoes. They were slightly too big, but much softer. As you adjusted them, Vinnie helped her into a more comfortable position in the seat.
“Thank you, baby. I owe you one,” she said, her voice full of appreciation.
“Don’t mention it,” Vinnie replied with a warm grin. “Just let me know if you need anything else.”
You nodded, feeling a wave of relief and affection. As Vinnie got in the driver’s seat and started the car, you both knew that this was one of those small moments that made your love for each other stronger.
