Synopsis: After a messy break up your sophomore year, you decided that the best thing for you was to finish off your college career single. You wanted to focus on yourself, grow as a person and finish off your degree strong. There’d be plenty of time for love after college. But after losing your camera you become friends with the seemingly perfect boy that threatens to ruin your plans.
It was hard to believe just how fast time passed after graduation. Those years in university felt like they took forever, and then suddenly everything shift gears. You regretted not savoring your senior year more preciously. You smiled fondly at the developing film. The faint image of Momo and Hyunjin slowly processing.
Between your busy work schedule you made it your project to finally get around to developing years of film that you accidentally ended up hoarding. Sure you saw your friends all the time on instagram or the occasional facetime call but time differences were a lot to work around.
And as much as you missed your friends you didn’t regret a single decision after leaving university. You didn’t really have a solid plan, you had a few internships lined up but decided to follow Chan to Sydney. He had a job opportunity and you figured you’d make your own opportunities.
You were able to land an editorial opportunity after Rosie passed your portfolio on to her team. And the rest was history.
“Baby? You home?” Chan walked into your shared apartment looking for you.
You swished the photo in the developer “I’m in here, gimmie a sec” you cleaned off your hands and walked out of your makeshift film room to see your boyfriend with the brightest smile on his face. His cheek dimpling. “Oh boy, you’re planning something”
“I am not~” he gave you a cheeky grin grabbing your hands and tugging you into him. His fingers, playing with yours as he rubbed your ring finger, placing a kiss on the bare skin.
“You are a terrible liar” you laughed “What’s up? What’s your news?”
“We’re going on a date tonight” he beamed looking up at you from his seat on the bed.
“Oh? What’s the occasion?”
“I love you and I just want you to have a reason to get dressed up”
“You’re sweet” you leaned down grabbing his face and pecking his lips.
He smiled into the kiss, his eyes darkening beneath his long lashes as he watched you pull away. His tongue darting across his bottom lip. “Mmm you’re definitely sweeter”
“Stop, no bedroom eyes before 9pm I have work to do” you laughed, tugging away from him. “You’re a distraction”
He chuckled, cuddling you to his strong chest. “Fine don’t look me in the eyes.” you laid on his chest, practically pouting.
“You know I can’t, not look you in the eyes. I love your eyes” you huffed gazing up at him.
His pupils darkened as he pulled you into a deep kiss. Holding your chin with his thumb and index finger while his lips worked over yours. You sighed as his tongue teasingly licked the seam of your lips, as he coaxed you into a deeper kiss. “Mmmm…” you closed your eyes as he rolled over you, pinning you beneath him.
His warm hand gripping the skin beneath your shirt. “Don’t… Tease” you whined. As he pulled away, placing little kisses along your jaw. His large hand spanning against your neck as he worked his way lower. Every few kisses his teeth grazing your burning skin. “Chris…Nnn….”
“Hm?” he absently kissed the base of your throat, his long lashes fluttering against your skin as he looked at you. “What was that Baby?” He chuckled, feeling you squeeze your thighs together as his hand accidentally brushed across your heat. “Oops” he quirked a brow, seeing that frustrated look on your face. Your hands greedily running down his chest, gripping and tugging at his shirt.
“Want you…” you whined looking up at him, pouting as he pulled away.”
“Sorry love” he chuckled, winking. “Didn’t you say something about no bedroom eyes and having work to do”
“You’re no fair.” you sat hastily. The frustration etched on your face.
He laughed kissing your bruised lips again. “My Baby looks so needy”
“I am needy. Do something about it”
“Tonight... “ he laughed and stood up, taking you in one more time.
“But I want you now”
“Don’t you have work to do Baby?”
“Well right now, I’d rather do you” you crossed your arms over your chest.
“Hmm…” he licked his lips smirking. “As tempting as you are, I have some work to do before tonight.” He grabbed his keys before placing another kiss to your forehead. “I’ll meet you at the usual place tonight at 6pm, and I’ll make it up to you after dinner?” You sighed, pouting. “Aww don’t be mad Baby, I promise I’ll make it up to you. Be good for me”
“Fine… See you tonight. I love you”
“Love you more!” he waved before closing the door behind him.
One of your biggest problems in university was the lack of time. Between class, keeping up with your portfolio, and dedicating the rest of your free time to your friend you never felt like you had enough time. It was one of the reasons you suffered with insomnia back then.
What was supposed to be a full day of work was finished in just a few hours. Your photos finished developing, you were all caught up on editing and emails.
You sighed walking over to the bed and flopping down. You’ve been so busy with work that on your off days it just reminded you of how lonely you were. Chan was busy with work, Momo and Hyunjin were living their best lives and you were happy for them. But that didn’t stop you from missing them.
Rolling on over to look at your phone you sighed seeing your message left on read in the group chat. You didn’t blame them, the time difference was a lot especially for Momo.
Your eyes widened feeling your phone ring, and seeing Rosie’s face pop up. “Hey What’s up?”
“Hey Love, you busy?”
“No I’m bored out of my mind actually.”
“Perfect! I wanted to go shopping, you wanna come?”
Rosie was a welcomed presence in your life and you appreciate her efforts in making sure you felt at home. She waived her hand in your face and laughed. “Did you hear anything that I said?”
“Huh? Oh sorry? I just-”
“Are you ok?” she frowned.
“I’m ok... just in my head…”
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“I-It’s just…” you took a sip of your juice, absently following her through the shopping center. “Do you think friendships just drift apart because of distance?”
“Not necessarily. I mean there’s plenty of people I went to high school with who are still in the same city. We drifted apart for different reasons, so distance may not be a deciding factor.” she shrugged. “But if people are meant to be in your life they’ll make the time. Just like you’d make the time ya know?”
“That makes sense…”
“You miss Momo and Hyunjin?”
“Yeah… the first few months weren’t that bad but Momo is in a new dance troupe so she’s literally touring Europe and Hyunjin is in his senior year and… it’s just a lot… I mean I get it… I can’t always answer my phone or have the energy to text back but I’m just scared to lose them.” you sigh. “I don’t want them to be just another face in a photograph… they’re my family”
“You’re not gonna lose them just because they’re busy… People like that...they’re gonna be in your life even if they’re not right there.” Rosie gave you the biggest smile. “Felix and Chris are still some of my best friends, and it didn’t matter that we didn’t talk everyday, what matters is that when we talk it’s like we never stopped”
You smiled to yourself thinking about all of the memories you shared with your friends. “You’re right… I just miss them.”
“I’m sure you’ll see them soon”
“Not soon enough”
She grabbed your hand before bringing you into a store “This dress is so pretty you have to try it on” her eyes practically sparkling as she grabbed the dress on the hanger beside the mannequin.
“I don’t really know if I can pull this off.” you eyed the light sundress.
“Of course you can” she beamed, pushing you toward the fitting room.
Shopping with Rosie was such a welcomed distraction, and you couldn’t thank her enough for getting you out of the house.
You got to the restaurant just a little early, still tugging at the hem of your new dress. Even after being together for over a year you could count on one hand how many times you’ve dressed up for Chan. Rosie was right, it was a pretty dress and it made you feel gorgeous, it was the kind of dress Momo would approve of. It was such a flattering fit, hugging and accentuating all of your curves.
Since you were early you walked out to the beach to enjoy the sunset. That was one of the things you’ve come to be spoiled by. The most breathtaking sunsets you’ve ever seen were on the beaches of Sydney. You broke out into a smile seeing your boyfriend standing on the beach, hands in his pockets as he looked out to the sea. “Fancy meeting you here”
He turned around taking you in, his eyes softly raking over your body, “Hey Love” he grinned taking your hands into his and pulled you close to him. “You look so beautiful” he pulled you in for a soft kiss. “You’re early”
You laughed “I’ve had a lot on my mind lately, I was kinda hoping to decompress at the beach.”
He chuckled “I had the same thought process” He slipped off his jacket placing it on the sand beside him, gesturing for you to sit with him. Facing the sunset, you hooked your arms with his, resting your head on his shoulder. “What’s on your mind?” he placed a kiss on the crown of your head. “I can’t promise that I have an answer, but I’m a pretty good listener”
“Are you afraid of losing people? Like friendships?” You dug your feet into the sand nervously.
“I mean, I’m pretty sure the people I have in my life now are the people I want in my life forever.”
“But what if they’re not there anymore...What if you drift apart and you were only friends out of convenience…”
“Well if it makes you feel any better” he gave your hand a small squeeze, running his thumb over your naked ring finger. “I promise I’ll be your best friend forever”
You couldn’t help but smile, looking up at him. The sincerity evident in his voice. “You’re sweet Chris… but you don’t know that.. Like no one knows if someone is going to be there forever...”
“Oh I know that” he kissed your hand. “I make friends for life. And I’m sure as hell keeping this one that makes me the happiest person in the world” he gazed at you so lovingly, he took in your beauty. The stunning way the sunset hit your face, how your lips parted in a small pout.
“Kiss?”
He grinned pecking your lips softly, smiling into the kiss. “I wished you loved you the way everyone else does” he whispered, pressing his lips against your lips.
“I’m working on it” you gave him a meek smile. “I’m glad I have you for life… and I love being here in Sydney with you.. But I just feel like I’m missing so much... I used to go to all of Momo’s showcases now she’s half way around the world and I can’t even congratulate her properly. And I may not have gone to all of Hyunjin’s swim meets but I was at every one of his photography showcases and always took him for celebratory ice cream…” you leaned your head back on his strong shoulder. “I don’t want them to hate me because I can’t be there for them...I wish I could...I just hate how things are different now”
“Different isn’t bad… and just because you don’t see someone everyday doesn’t mean they’re not thinking of you…” he gave your hand a comforting squeeze. “They love you” He knew that there was still a lot of insecurities and self esteem issues you were working on, and they’d gotten better since graduating. But there was always a part of you that seemed to struggle with feeling worthy enough, even when it came to your friendships.
“I know they love me… I just feel like they’ve been ghosting me lately… it’s not just taking a long time to respond to me, it’s being distracted when we talk, or keeping things from me...Last time I facetimed with Momo she could barely look at me… I know I’m bothering them… And don’t even get me started on Hyunjin-” Your eyes widened hearing your boyfriend laugh. “I’m sorry, are you laughing at my dying friendships?” you frowned, practically glaring at him.
Chan was fighting back a smile, while looking at the ocean. “I’m sorry Baby, I’m really sorry” he chuckled, smoothing down your hair and kissing your forehead again trying to calm you. “I’m not laughing at you-”
“This isn’t funny Chris” you huffed.
“I know,I know” he giggled, holding his stomach “But this is my fault”
“I’m not following…?”
“Our 2nd anniversary is coming up… and I wanted to do something special for you, I may have told Hyunjin and Momo, and well” he chuckled “You know how bad they are at keeping secrets. “I guess they didn’t want to give anything away”
“Really??” you smiled, relaxing a bit more “You’re being serious?” you playfully hit his shoulder as he hugged you.
“Of course I am Baby” he chuckled, hugging you tightly. “I’m sorry for scaring you, we just didn’t want to give anything away”
“I was so scared they hated me” you whined, into his chest.
“We could never hate you” an airy and soft voice echoed from behind you.
“There you go again, being dramatic” a lower scoff followed. You could practically hear him roll his eyes.
“What?” Your head shot up to hearing two familiar voices. Voices that instantly gave you warmth and comfort. Your eyes filled with tears as you leaped up and ran into Momo and Hyunjin’s arms. “What are you- How are you-” You cried into Momo’s chest as Hyunjin rubbed your back laughing.
“Don’t cry, we're supposed to be celebrating” Hyunjin chuckled.
“Awww… I missed you so much” Momo squeezed you into the hug.
Chan smiled at you fondly, despite the tears, this was the happiest he’d seen you in a long time.” Felix laughed, snapping a photo of the little moment before leaning his arm on Chan’s shoulder.
“You outdid yourself with this surprise Hyung. They were so giddy the entire drive from the airport.”
“It took forever to work their schedules out” he laughed “But it was worth it, look at her” he smiled seeing you animatedly talk to them, as if you were trying to make up for every lost moment. “I’d do anything for that smile” Chan stuck his hand into his pocket, fiddling with the little velvet jewelry box. “I have a couple more surprises in store for tonight”
Felix practically scoffed. “What else could you be planning? You planning on proposing tonight or something?” he laughed until he caught the smirk on Chan’s face. “Wait? You are, aren't you?”
Chan gave him a sheepish smile “Moving to Sydney together, we wanted to figure out our careers and work on our relationship...and I love her more than anything, and I just really wanna be able to call her my wife.”
Felix smiled patting him on the back, the pride evident in his eyes. “Felix!” you ran hugging him tightly “You came too?! I thought you had your gaming tournament?”
He laughed hugging you tight. “I placed top three and hopped on the first flight home” he chuckled patting your back. “I’m gonna bring the guys inside, and check in for the dinner reservation.” He winked leaving you with Chan.
“Thank you so much Chris!” You hugged your boyfriend tight, cupping his face with a small pout. “How long have you been planning this?”
He chuckled, holding you close. “Did I surprise you? This was actually supposed to be a birthday surprise but it took months to work with Momo’s tour schedule” he beamed at you.
“I nearly had a heart attack” you giggled, cupping his face and pressing a loving kiss to his lips. “Thank you…”
“You know I’d give you the entire world if I could” he set you down gently, gazing into your eyes.
“You are my entire world” your fingers caressing his skin as you pecked his lips again. “Come on, let’s go inside”
He laced his fingers with yours, his thumb once again running against your ring finger. “Baby can you take one more surprise?”
You turned around feeling that your boyfriend was following you to the restaurant. “Hm?” turning around you were met with the sight of Chan kneeling on the sand, holding a ring box. “...Chris?” your eyes widened. “Are you..?”
His ears were red as he bashfully looked up at you, that beautiful sheepish smile on his face as his cheek dimpled. The setting sun behind him, making him look angelic. “I may not know what tomorrow is going to bring, and I don’t know if things are going to be perfect… But I know that I’m going to love you...yesterday, today, forever… And if you’ll allow me to, I’d love to be your husband…Will you marry me?”
“I love you, of course I will…” your eyes filled with tears for the second time that night as you dropped to your knees, letting him place the ring on your ringer. You hugged him tight, crying into his chest.
He released a relieved sigh hugging you, rubbing your back softly. He’d been carrying that ring for weeks, and he felt like it was burning a hole in his pocket. But after seeing you tonight, he didn’t want to go another minute without asking you. He looked up behind you seeing his friends waving from the terrace of the restaurant, cheering for them.
Over a year ago, he told himself he was going to give everything to his relationship, after pulling his final trump card, he felt like he really was all in this time.

Hey Friends! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
I’m so sorry for the long wait but thank you so much for coming along on this journey with me and my first social media AU. I’ve learned so much and developed such a huge respect for social media au’s. Traditional writing will always be my love and I was glad I could incorporate it into a sort of hybrid social media/scenario series. It was a great way to challenge myself and I can’t wait to do it again. I’ve been drafting another series for a few months now, and hopefully you’ll get to see it soon.
You set down your phone feeling Chan pepper your neck with kisses, hitting that spot just below your ear, making you giggle. “Stop~” you whined, with the brightest smile on your face.
His nose buried deep in the juncture of your neck as he smiled against you. “You smell so good…” he chuckled, pulling you closer against his chest. “Do you have class today?”
“No, but I need to go to the library, I have to finish a few more projects” You turned in his arms to face him. You placed your hands on his chest, gazing up at him lovingly. “I don’t wanna go”
“You have to be a good girl and go” he grinned “And it’s almost graduation” he brushed his nose against yours. “You’re almost done Baby girl”
“Don’t wanna~” you grinned letting him roll you over and pin you down. He chuckled looking down at you, his soft curly hair falling over his eyes. “What are you going to do about it?” you tangled your fingers in his hair, scratching just behind his ear.
“You’re a troublemaker” he caressed your cheek while showering you with sweet little kisses along your jaw. “I remember when you used to be so shy” his teeth grazed your skin. “You couldn’t even look at me on facetime.”
“Well...” You grabbed his face making him look down at you. “I’m not looking away anymore” He gave you the brightest smile as you pulled him into the kiss.
This was the happiest either of you have ever been. It was still so surreal that this was your reality. That just a few days prior you’d given up on love and here you were waking up in the arms of the only man you’d ever felt this way for.
It took a little convincing but he finally talked you into going to the library. Walking you to the building, you clung to his hand. “Baby~” you whined, wanting a kiss.
He pulled you in for a hug, pressing a sweet, chaste kiss on your lips. “Oh no”
“What is it?” you looked up at him, confused at the concern look on his face.
“I don’t want to stop kissing you.” he grinned, running his nose down yours. “I could get addicted to this”
“I hope you never stop” you smiled, tugging him inside the library.
You spent the next few hours studying and finishing up your project while Chan alternated between napping and holding your hand. Right now he settled on laying his head on the table, taking a quick power nap while keeping his arm around securely around your waist.
Smiling to yourself, you pecked his cheek before going back to studying,
Occasionally you’d feel him stir in his long enough to give your hip a squeeze or give you a small smile before falling asleep again.
“Do you have to rub your relationship in everyone's face” a familiar voice teased, taking a seat at the table.
“Hey Hyunjin” you grinned.
Hyunjin sighed looking over at Chan “Almost three years on the swim team with Channie-Hyung and that man never sleeps, and yet here he is knocked out like a Baby”
Chan was one of the people that couldn’t just be idle. There was always something to do. Something to work on, something to improve on. It was like he was too wired to actually relax. Even on swim meets while the team was taking a mental and physical break before competition Chan was always doing something. Often times it caused worry amongst the guys; No amount of nagging could even get him to take a step back. He was just too tense to relax. But with you, in the middle of the day he was just sleeping.
His usually tense shoulders, relaxed. The little furrow in his brow gone, his breathing, calm and even. He genuinely was just so at ease with you.
The corner of his mouth tugged into a smile. “It’s hard to be annoyed at everything you guys went through when I see you like this”
You laughed “I wouldn’t blame you if you did.”
“I’m not gonna hold anything against either of you.” he shrugged. “You’re my best friend and you’re happy and Channie-Hyung has always been a hero to me so I guess this is fine” he laughed “You guys are allowed to be dysfunctional once, so don’t get used to dragging us all in your drama” he winked before heading out. “I’ll catch you guys later”
Finishing up your assignment you quietly packed up for the day when Chan slipped his hand in yours. You laughed holding your threaded hands up. “It’s a lot harder to clean like this”
He gave you a sleepy smile. “Deal with it, you’re stuck with me” he placed a kiss on the back of your hand.
“Oh no, whatever shall I do” your tongue darted out, licking your lips as you eyed your boyfriend.
He leaned in closer to you, his voice quiet and low. Taking advantage of being in the library to tease you. He moved his free hand on your thigh, squeezing it tightly. “Baby girl… if you keep looking at me like that I’m gonna kiss you senseless.”
“Is that a promise or a threat?”
“You trying to find out?” he gave you a cheeky smile.
To Be Continued…
Hey Friends! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
I had so many chapters of plot, angst and with them being broken up it was so nice to write something fluffy for them 🥺 I just wanted it to be a sweet fluffy chapter.
Sorry for the long wait guys
I’ll re-read in the morning for spelling and editing mistakes because it’s 2am right now and I have work tomorrow >.<
It took absolutely everything in Chan to come to your apartment. You invited him but it still felt like he was somehow violating your space. That this was the sole thing he’s been wanting and yet it felt so surreal to get this far. There were only two possible outcomes after he left here. It was either he continued to be someone you allowed in your life or he wasn’t. That in itself was nerve wracking. He took a deep breath before finally knocking on your apartment door.
Momo swung the door open, glaring at him. “Chan.”
“Hi Momo… it’s been a while”
“I honestly could have gone longer without seeing you” she sighed letting him in. “But if you’re here to just break her heart some more, I’ll save you the trouble.”
“I’m not...I’m trying to make things right…” he looked down fiddling with his hoodie sleeves. “I just want her to be happy…”
“I’m serious Chan...I’ve never seen her as happy as she was with you...but I’ve also never seen her so heart broken as she is now…” she pressed her manicured finger into his chest. “Fix this.”
“All I can do is beg for her forgiveness”
“She’s in her room...I’m going to dance practice” Momo grabbed her bag “Good luck”
Chan looked at your door, his hand hovering over it before falling back to his side. He didn’t really know what he was gonna say, his only plan was to answer any question you had and try to be as upfront with his feelings as possible. But he knew in the back of his mind that there was a strong possibility that it just wasn’t going to be enough, that he wasn’t going to be enough and this could be the last conversation he had with you and that in itself terrified him.
After what felt like an eternity the door opened, Chan’s hand falling back down to his side again, never finding the courage to knock. “H-How’d you know I was here?”
“Momo said she was gonna get the door a while ago…”
“Sorry...I got nervous…”
You nodded “It’s ok…” you stepped aside letting him inside your room, and gesturing for him to have a seat on the bed. “We needed to talk...I’m sorry I’ve been avoiding you...I just...I wasn’t ready…I needed to organize my thoughts”
“No, I’m sorry. If I had just been upfront about everything this wouldn’t have happened.” he bowed. “I’ll answer anything”
“Chan I ran away from you instead of letting you talk. I’m at least partly to blame” You hugged yourself, gaze falling to the ground.
His eyes widened hearing you can him Chan, it’d been such a while since he heard you say that. It was so unfamiliar off your lips. You were still distancing yourself from him. He nodded “Mistakes were made… I don’t have any excuses to offer you… I’m just trying to be honest...I want to have what we had before...I wanna make you happy again”
“What is Rosie to you…?” You didn’t know if he knew that Rosie reached out to you and gave you her side of the story. After your talk with Rosie, and Changbin you realized they were right. Chan wasn’t the kind of person to purposely hurt you. It did seem like a genuine misunderstanding. Perhaps it was self sabotage, like it was so unbelievable that you were happy in a relationship that the moment something wasn’t perfect you fled. It wasn’t fair to him and it wasn’t fair to everyone that put up with you. You already knew your decision about Chan before he even arrived but you needed to hear him say it.
You needed confirmation.
“Rosie was…” he sighed “No, Rosie is one of my best friends, especially growing up. We met in primary school and were friends all the way until graduation. Sometime during my freshman year of highschool feelings developed and we just kind of ended up dating. We never really had a talk or anything about it, things just progressed naturally. I did like her a lot and at the time I’m sure I could have called it love. There was no reason to break up until graduation. I knew I wanted to move to Seoul, and Felix was gonna join me here in a few years.” He fiddled with the sleeves of his hoodie, looking up at you sincerely. “Rosie was gonna stay in Sydney she wanted to be a singer there and already signed to a company”
You nodded taking in his story. “Why didn’t you break up when you moved?”
“I guess we thought we’d make it work? When I first got to Seoul I was overwhelmed, there was culture shock, a huge workload with classes and the swim team. I even had a part time job. I barely even spoke to Rosie, she had a career. We’d talk occasionally but there was never an urgency.” he gave you a small smile. “I don’t think either of us were that invested in our relationship. But when I went back home to see my parents me and Rosie would pick up where we left off, we’d act like a couple again filling each other in on lost time. That kind of thing worked for us.”
“You said before, you guys were on a break… When did you guys decide that?”
“Sometime during my sophomore year I told her I wasn’t able to come home for her birthday and she told me not to worry about that anymore, that she didn’t want to pressure me. She was the one who suggested the break, said there was a guy she was starting to get close to but wasn’t sure if it was more than friendship.” he laughed “It was selfish but we both decided that it was good for us. Honestly neither of us wanted to deal with the guilt from talking with other people but we were cowards and didn’t want to break up properly.”
“How is that fair to anyone? It’s like you have one foot out the door in every relationship… This other person is all in and you guys are just playing with them, because if it doesn’t work out you both had a trump card” you hugged yourself “It’s cruel to date someone and make them think that they’re your number one when they’re actually just on a wait list”
“I know that now… I promise we didn’t think of it like that… We were just trying to spare each other's feelings… I think we both thought the other was in love and the only thing in the way was distance but it was more than that… But you’re right that whole one foot out the door thing...it was the reason why me and Rosie both failed with other people.”
“What are your feelings for her now?”
“She’s still a great friend, we’re both busy with life so we only keep up through instagram. I don’t regret my relationship with her, but I do regret not ending it properly in the beginning. We could have spared a lot of people's feelings. We broke up officially right before I went back to Australia.” he gave you a sheepish smile. “She has a boyfriend that she was hesitant on living with because of the guilt and I’ve never seen her so happy.”
“Does he know about this?”
“When I went to visit her we both talked to him and apologized. It took a little bit but he understood…It was the mistake of two very immature kids who held on to a memory, and ran from our feelings…”
You stood in front of him with a pout on your lips. “Very selfish, immature kids…”
“Very very selfish” he looked up at you and held your fingers, as gently as possible, gauging your reaction. It was the first physical contact he had with you in so long. He missed your warmth, how you felt in his hand. How you immediately calmed his rising anxieties.
“How do you feel about me? Was I just a fling? Was I just another person you were trying out while waiting for Rosie?”
“No...you were never a fling...I never meant to fall so hard...so fast, but I know I love you.” h e looked down at your intertwined fingers, rubbing your hand softly. “The first time I saw you with Hyunjin I thought you were so beautiful… It was only for a moment you were waiting for him outside the gym but i just couldn’t stop thinking about you… When we finally started talking because of your camera i was happy enough… I could be happy with just a friendship, but then I-” he stopped himself to look at you, to gaze in your warm eyes that gave him the courage to continue. “I couldn’t stop imagining you by my side, thinking about you when I went to sleep...You were my first thought when I woke up…I never felt like that before”
Your frown turned into a small pout. All the time lost and heartbreak could have been avoided had you two just communicated better. If your first instinct wasn’t to run,if you didn’t let your past trauma dictate your present. Yugyeom took a lot of things from you. You weren’t going to let your pain from him take away your present happiness anymore. “I love you too” he gently tugged pulling you on his lap and cupping your face, his thumb tracing over your bottom lip.
“I’m so sorry for all the trouble and heartbreak I caused you… You have to know it’s my worst nightmare to hurt you.”
“Don’t do it again…” you whispered against the palm of his hand, leaning into his touch.
“You forgive me?” his voice barely a whisper.
“I’m not gonna hold your past against you. After talking to you...and to Rosie...I’m ready to forgive you. But you have to be all in… No backup plans…no cards up your sleeves” you made him look into your eyes, squishing his face in your small hands.
“I’m all in” He brushed his nose against yours, smiling brightly. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
You laughed and nodded “It almost sounds silly to hear at this point.”
“I’m done with ambiguous relationships” he smirked “I want to be very clear with what we have… Can you say it for me?”
“Yes, Chris. I’ll be your girlfriend” you giggled as he pulled you into a deep kiss, his fingers tangling in your hair.
“I missed you so much…” he mumbled against your lip. “I’m not letting you go again...I promise…” his heart fluttered seeing your smile brighten, he could practically see the sparkle in your eyes. He chuckled as you tried to chase his lips every time he pulled away.
“If you missed me, then kiss me” you pouted in frustration, whining when his lips were always out of touch.
His eyes raked over your face, the little scrunch of your nose, the furrow of your brow, how your pout deepened. His thumb traced your features slowly. “My gorgeous babygirl…” he whispered against your skin.
You couldn't help but feel so exposed as he just stared at you, like he was trying to memorize every feature. It honestly made you feel so vulnerable. “Chris….stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” his smile turned into a playful smirk. “How am I looking at you?”
You caressed his cheek, your eyes softening at his gaze. “Like I’m precious…”
“Because you are…” the moment the words left his mouth he hid his face in your sweater.
“Chris…” you brought his chin up to you, your nails running through his curly hair. “Make love to me…”
He pulled you down with him, rolling on top as he peppered your faces with kisses. His warm fingers running down your side and pushing your night shirt up. “My beautiful girl…” He nipped at your lips, cupping your breast from under your sports bra. You shivered under his touch as he made quick work of your shirt, tossing it behind him. “Stop~” he groaned as you covered your chest, shrinking yourself the moment he took off your bra, leaving you in your panties. “Lemme see”
You huffed pushing him away with one hand. “No, I’m too naked and you’re fully clothed.”
“Then undress me” his voice laced with teasing.
“Close your eyes” you warned, waiting for the moment he closed his eyes before you took off his shirt. Your fingertips lingering for a moment too long on his strong abs. Your eyes watching the slightest movement of his body as he took in a breath. He peaked an eye open to watch you follow the rigids of his abs down toward his belt loop. While working on undoing his belt you looked up from the feeling of being watched. “Hey you’re supposed to-”
He silenced you with a deep kiss, smiling against you. “How could I…” he smiled brightly, placing his hands on top of yours helping you get the belt off. “I don’t wanna miss a second of you…” his expression was just so soft, so gentle. His little butterfly kisses working down your body, as he occasionally stopped just to maintain eye contact with you, making you squirm before you shut your eyes in embarrassment. He chuckled watching you get shy. “God I missed you…” he pressed a kiss against your panties, his tongue teasing you from the outside.
“Chris…” his name a prayer on your lips, only encouraging his teasing.
Slipping your panties down your leg he returned to your core, hooking your thighs over his shoulders
You whimpered feeling his tongue dive in. Your back arching against the mattress “Chris you don’t have to-Ah” you gripped the bedsheets harder.
“I want to…” he gave you the softest puppy dog pout “I want to make you feel good… I want you to only think of me…” his dark eyes watched you, making sure this was ok “May I?”
You nodded, breathlessly giving him permission to continue. From how he held you, to how his tongue flattened against all the right spots you were at his mercy. He made sure to work you over with his fingers, letting you ride out your orgasm. Your vision, blurring from the pleasure.
He left kisses back up your body, his full lips covered in your slick as he kissed you. You deepen the kiss, holding him as close as you could. “I need you…” you begged. “Please Chris…”
“I love you..” he cupped your face before kissing your nose, your cheek, your throat. “You have me Baby girl…” he rubbed himself against you, slowly pushing himself inside. Letting you take him inch by inch, slowly finding his rhythm. He never broke eye contact with you as he moved faster. He spoiled you with sweet kisses as you held on to his shoulders, your nails dragging down his back as you held on to him.
And as much as he brought you immense pleasure while making love to you. The things that really got you were his little giggles when he’d catch your smiles, the way his free hand would always find yours to hold your hand and give you reassurance. How his kisses always managed to taste like watermelon juice.
“I love you so much Christopher…” you whispered between moans, holding his face closer to you, his lips ghosting yours.
He buried his face in your neck, pressing a kiss at the base of your throat. “Please don't’ let me go again…” his hand gripped your intertwined fingers as he reached his climax, you following right behind him. Despite him cumming he continued to pump you a few more times, each one becoming lazier than the last. “Stay with me…” he whispered more so to himself, not intending for you to hear him.
“I’m not going anywhere…” you brought his lips back to yours in a sweet chaste kiss. You two definitely weren’t perfect, and mistakes were made. There was no telling that your relationship was going to be perfect from now on. But some things were worth taking a gamble on. He was worth trying for. You weren’t gonna run away from this one.
To be continued…
That was a lengthy chapter, but thank you guys for being so patient while waiting for the update. I was dealing with a lot of bugs with the app and finally managed to get through it. There’s only two more chapters of this series left
You stared at your arm, the light bruising on your forearm pretty noticeable. Yugyeom never hurt you in the past, not physically at least. But last night, he grabbed you so hard, you struggled against his grip and he only held tighter. You were sure it’d be gone in a few days but it still made you sick to see.
The last thing you wanted to do was to make Hyunjin and Momo worry. They were so protective of you, Momo would risk her performance, and could lose a scholarship. Hyunjin would risk getting expelled if you told him. But you hated lying. You didn’t want to lie to them, so you ignored them. Hyunjin had been calling you all morning and you’d been texting him that you were just too busy or tired to talk, but there was only so much of that he was going to tolerate before coming to your house.
You sighed, covering your arm with your sweater. There was so much weighing on your mind. Momo’s messages about Chan hitting Yugyeom, Rosie’s sudden DM. What were you supposed to say? What could you say? Your anxiety was getting to be a bit much, but what could you say to a girl whose relationship you almost ruined.
It was almost suffocating. And you just needed a break.
Your walk ended up taking you all the way to the park on South campus. You looked out at the lake and tried to figure out what to make of Rosie’s words. You lost track of how long you just stared at the reflection of the clouds. You were hoping the fresh air would give you courage to hear her out. See what she wanted to say, but you were just so scared. And it felt like there wasn’t an impartial party for you to turn to. And for times like this you wished you could just vent to Chris again.
“Hey!” Changbin waved, before jogging toward you. “You runaway again?” he chuckled, lightly jogging in place monitoring as his heart rate lowered from his run.
“Ha.Ha” you let out a dry laugh, but mustered a small smile “I just went for a walk, i just needed to clear my head”
“For someone that came to clear their head, you look pretty stressed” he chuckled “Would you like some company?” You nodded gesturing to the grass beside you. He took a seat and took a swig of his water. “So what’s going on?”
“What’s your honest opinion on Chris?”
“I’ve known the guy for years, and I know he broke your heart so you’re probably not gonna wanna hear this from me but...I trust the guy with my life. He was a musical partner, and my swim captain. He puts others first and takes care of people, real empathetic guy almost too much so. His worst habit is that he overthinks and that may cause him to make some bad choices because he doesn’t wanna hurt anyone.” He leaned on his knees looking out at the lake. “But I trust him”
“I heard he punch Yugyeom…”
“Trust me, if he didn’t it was only a matter of time before someone else did. That kid is a scum bag”
“Why did he punch him?”
“Listen...I know Channie-Hyung hurt you. And he was an idiot for it but no matter how much you may hate him, he loves you and he’s not gonna let someone talk about you or hurt you like Yugyeom does. If you’re fishing to try and figure out what kind of guy he is because your image of him isn’t matching up to your hatred of him or how you’re painting him to be it’s because he isn’t a bad person… “ he smiled softly “You know exactly the kind of guy he is. The guy you fell for wouldn’t cheat”
You sighed hugging yourself “But he did...He did cheat…” you pouted. “And you’re bias”
“I am” he chuckled “You’re not gonna find many people that know him that aren’t biased.”
Changbin was right, some of your frustration was based in the fact that you built your heartbreak to blame Chris for everything that was wrong. That you guys had a good thing going and he ruined it by keeping a secret. But the Chris you spent months talking to, the man that fell asleep on the phone with you, or who made you feel safe wouldn’t have done that. He wasn’t a bad guy.
“His girlfriend...Rosie...She DM’ed me...what do I do?”
“If you won’t talk to him, than talk to her. How many other opportunities do you think you’ll have like that” he stood up to stretch his back. “You already got your heart broken, worst case scenario you get closure”
“Best case scenario?”
“You and Channie-Hyung get back together and work this out, because a lot of people are rooting for you”
“Why are you rooting for me? When he could have some beautiful model”
“Because you make him happier than I’ve ever seen” he shrugged “Like I said Chan, is like my brother. I love him, I trust him and his happiness is my happiness. He helped me and the guys out a lot over the years and I can’t repay him enough. You’re the one person that seems like they can calm him enough for him to sleep and that’s all I can ask for” he stretched his arms and gave you a little wave. “Alright I gotta finish my run but, good luck.”
You took a deep breath and looked down at your phone before opening up instagram to reply to Rosie. At the very least you could try, couldn’t you?
