Thoughts About My First Ren Fest:

Ren Fest/ Renaissance Fair, this will all be put into bullet points because I can not express how cool it is in full sentences, all of this is more like things i've learnt

(if you can) get up and dance to every band you pass by

be the life of the party, have people join in your dance

clap and stomp along to music

you don't have to buy much unless you want to (expensive stuff everywhere)

go with friends

you don't have to dress up unless you want to

legit come to the fest wearing cat ears and your good

be loud when there's jousting

and i mean super loud

join in a dance near the start

if you have nothing else to do, venture around the fair and see bits of shows going on

shout random things

me and my friend got up and danced to a group we already saw an hour before and some lady from the crowd (unassociated with the band) gave us the playing cards the band was selling just because we were having fun and dancing

hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

be weird, everyone is weird and a nerd, especially you if you want to go

It was super dusty, took a shower as soon as I got home, wore black, my clothes (especially boots) were covered in dirt(dust)

WEAR CLOSE TOES SHOES YOU WILL GET DUSTY

dress for the weather- it was hot as hell

if you're wearing a skirt, wear possible matching colored/themed shorts under so you can take off the skirt and cool off for a sec

the food was too damn good but don't buy a lot of it

check out the expensive stuff in stores even if you can't buy it

if you can, buy someone a gift, something inexpensive and cute or something

always have someone availible to record the absolute fun you're having

TODAY WAS SO MUCH FUN

Today was so important to me because usually, going to stuff like this, I get tired, exhausted, all grumpy and cranky and whiny wanting to go home after an hour, yet, I was energetic, upbeat, loud, enthusiastic, dancing, the entire time. Usually after 2-3 hours my social battery would be depleted and I'd be a huge stick in the mud complaining to go home but I was willing to go until the very end of the day, dancing with friends and strangers who were so friendly.

The band of the people who played near the joust arena came straight up to our chaperones at the end of all of the dancing and were like "your kids over there are energetic, I like how they danced through our last few shows and got people dancing and everything"

I've never been so emotionally and socially awake and yet so physically drained and exhausted. Gosh that was so much fun. If you even read all the way here, thanks for staying around. Love ya!
