I was looking at a tumblr crosspost on pinterest (he also only just learned that it's a combo of "pin" and "interest") and it was about fanfics.
He thought you had to be specifically invited by an AO3 user to have an account. He thought you had to be verified by someone else with an account. He didn't think he knew anyone (I'm literally right here buddy and our aunt has been on AO3 since before he was born) so he didn't bother and he just. Kept all these tabs open.
It went something like this:
Me: (something about subscribing to fics)
Bro: YOU CAN SUBSCRIBE?!!!!!!
Me: Have you never heard of bookmarks? What do you think your account is for?
Bro: YOU CAN HAVE AN ACCOUNT?!!!!
Me: Yes?????
Bro: I dunno I thought you had to be like invited....
Me: NO????
Bro: Why do you think I have like 800 tabs open?
Me: Wha...
Bro: WHY DO YOU THINK I HAVE THAT WORD DOCUMENT?!
Me: WHAT WORD DOCUMENT??????!!!
He also thought this about fanfiction.net and wattpad.
My mother laughed at him. For a solid five minutes.
