I write this post with a heavy heart…
I write it on behalf of my friend who no longer asks for anything for himself, only for his mother.
His mother is battling cancer, receiving chemotherapy treatments that steal her strength day by day, and he stands helplessly by her side, trying to appear strong while his heart breaks every time he sees her in pain.On the nights when his mother fights the disease, they sleep in a tent torn by the wind, enduring the bitter cold and an even greater fear of tomorrow.
My friend is no longer afraid for himself… His only fear is losing his mother, being unable to secure her treatment, failing her in the most difficult days of her life.I write to you because sharing can save a life, because a little from you could mean so much to her,
and because sometimes silence is more painful than the pain itself.
Please… don't just pass by.
Share, support in any way you can, and be a source of renewed hope for a mother who deserves to live, and for a son who has nothing left in this world but your prayers.

One of life's great ironies is that almost everyone who makes the active decision to not have kids would probably be way better at raising a child than all the people who just kind of have children because it's what they think everyone is supposed to do
Like genuinely if you're like "I don't want kids because of the financial strain/the commitment/the irritation I would feel/the possibility of traumatizing them/whatever reason" you instantly demonstrate to me that you 1) understand the realities of parenthood and 2) believe that children should be treated with at least a base level of respect and compassion. Meanwhile everyone who's like "I want kids because I don't want to be alone" "I can't wait to dress up my babies" "I won't raise my children to be soft" may as well be talking about Neopets for all the fucks they seem to give about kids

In learning how to be less of a people pleaser and less conflict avoidant, I think one of the hardest parts of it has been to know when to say something.
Sometimes I do want to protect my peace and pick my battles. Other times I get really worked up and need to blow off steam first. I know it is healthy to be able to disagree and to answer people. I know that if people are sharp/rude/loud with me back that is about them and not me.
But any type of argument or conflict is still super triggering for me. So navigating all of that on top of choosing to know when I am being avoidant and when I am just looking out for myself and my energy can be really tough.
