What Pjsk ship do you think Espilver is most similar to? I am kind of curious on your take.

Oooo but okay this is really really hard. I think you could definitely look at a good few selection of ships in pjsk and find a way to compare them to espilver, so I think I’ll name the one that immediately pops into my head, rather than try and figure out every possible option. (But also, just to preface, please remember I’m answering this question with my own biases and favs in mind, so yk, there’s a chance I’m not totally right on this aha! This is just my own trying-to-be-unbiased-biased opinion ^^)
If I had to pick the pjsk ship I consider closest to Espilver, it’d be Ruitoya! Both characters are somewhat similar to Espio and Silver (Espio and Toya, Silver and Rui) and Ruitoya has the same kind of dynamic Espilver has. As far as character similarities go..
Toya is stoic and quiet, overly formal and incredibly serious in everything that he does, (<- a lot of his comedy is derived from how self serious he is! Like that one time he made a two hour PowerPoint presentation to convince his dad that going camping with his friends was a worthy expedition, and eventually his dad just got tired and said ‘do whatever you want’) He is also *so* formal, that he STILL refers to his best friends by their last name. After five years worth of gameplay. No I’m not salty. There are more similarities, but those are some important ones.
As for Rui, while his personality differs a bit, his values are very much the same! He seems to unintentionally value other people’s safety and happiness in place of his, not minding if he himself were to get hurt (mentally or physically) for the ‘greater good’. He’ll often wonder about his place here, what value he offers, if he’ll be accepted here, etc etc. I’d say there are definitely more similarities between Espio and Toya than Silver and Rui (though, Rui did build a Time Machine once, if that counts for anything! ..that was in petit Sekai, which isn’t canon, but still!)
I think their dynamic is very comparable though. Rui and Toya as characters are kinda ‘similar’ to each other (more empathy for others than themselves, being harsher on themselves, both very serious about their respective discipline, etc) similar to how Espio and Silver are also similar characters (for the same reasons I just listed!) They also have a very mutually beneficial relationship (not that relationships should ever be seen as ‘transactional’, that’s just the best word I have to describe it). I once saw someone comment on a YouTube video that Espilver worked because Silvers “a very typically autistic person and Espio is every autistic person’s dream” (<- paraphrasing) and while it’s obviously more complex than that, Ruitoya have a very similar dynamic, with Rui’s character being based entirely off of being autistic, and Toyas kind of every autistic person’s dream, lol.
There are more similarities, but those are more align with my headcanons, like Rui being incredibly unhealthy whereas Toya is very healthy, which aligns w my hc of Silver not knowing how to take care of himself and espio teaching him (cuties), or Toya being really pretty (as seen in the ‘Take Your Shot!’ Event) which aligns with my hc of Espio being very pretty, etc etc..
I could ramble a LOT more, but I think I’ve said enough? Ashshsh, it probably doesn’t help that Ruitoya is my otp from pjsk (huh, I sense a pattern..)
