I've thought a lot about post finale Makorra. I've made my peace with it.
What I know now is that is in my hands. It is my turn to take what I've seen and let the stories continue on in my head. It's up to us now, not them and that is a bit freeing, because I don't have to worry anymore about contradicting canon because I am not working completely outside of canon.
I've already written a long and involved post about shipping and fanfiction and what the purpose of those are and how that relates to Makorra shippers. (Keep in mind it was written and posted before the announcement.)
Granted, we have to be a little more delicate in how we go about this, but if Kataang didn't stop Zutara, I don't see why Korrasami should stop Makorra.
