A romantic dinner by candlelight. At a near empty Italian restaurant, an open air table, near sunset. The waiter is charismatic, jokes around a bit with us. As the night goes on we get closer and closer together, our eyes ablaze, intoxicated. We hold hands on the way home. Calling back to jokes we made earlier in the night, but now with a very different undertone. We share a kiss at the doorway, go inside and continue, executing plans that have been brewing in our minds since we laid eyes on each other. This was a first date, and it will not be the last.
