Okay, let me go through all the stuff I've done for my Doc Ock cosplay so far, more so for me to keep track of where I am but also to share how much I've done:
1. Made the metal girdle out of 10mm thick foam floor mats, used EVA craft foam to add detail, painted it, and then glued the whole thing onto a weight lifters belt. (I might not end up even wearing this as its uncomfortable)
2. Made the claws out of 10mm thick foam floor mats, added detail with thin craft EVA foam.
3. Made the tentacle segments out of 5mm thick foam floor mats, should have used 10mm bc each segment was made out of two cut out pieces. Before gluing the two pieces together, I cut out the holes where the tubing would go through, 1 large hole in the centre, 3 smaller holes on each rounded corner. Spent like 2 or 3 months making these...
4. Failed miserable at making a harness, this is a very important step.
5. Bought 5mm armature wire to thread through the smaller tubing to help the tentacles stay in shape. Cut myself while using shitty wire cutters to cut the armature wire to size...
6. Gutted an old backpack, tried to use clips to attach the tentacles to it, this failed miserable too...
7. Decided to still use the backpack, now currently working on that by using a wooden board, which will have flag brackets screwed into it, and then be glued onto the backpack. I will be glueing 4 wooden dowels into the big tubing on the tentacles and they will fit into the flag brackets, therefore, attaching the tentacles to the backpack.
I will, as usual, keep ya'll updated on how this goes!
