wait I need to crowdsource something. I recently found out I’m allergic to an extremely common ingredient in soap. I’ve found a couple soaps I can use that won’t irritate my skin, but when I go over to other people’s houses I can pretty much guarantee that if I use their soap in their bathroom, it will have the stuff I’m allergic to in it (and/or I won’t be able to check the ingredients).

How do I avoid using other people’s evil soaps?

You don’t, just use their soap and suffer

Just never wash your hands, embrace the grime

Only ever use hand sanitizer (yuck)

Bring your own soap everywhere and be really obnoxious about it

Bring your own soap everywhere but try to hide it/pretend you’re using theirs

Demand that everyone you know buys new soap specifically for you

This ingredient (cocamidopropyl betaine) is like the second or third ingredient in most soaps and body washes and I’m losing it

for the soap thing: i’d get a little travel-sized thing of soap (assuming there’s a liquid soap you can use) or cut up a part of a bigger bar of soap (if no liquid soap has been identified). for friends and family, i would mention the allergy and let them know! they’d be willing to get you soap you can safely use. :]

or you can carry around a comically big thing of soap to use every time and make a big joke of it, kinda like those guys with the fuck-off big pencils. that works too lmao

I love the idea of the comically large soap. Carry around a backpack everywhere I go and when someone asks me what's inside, I unzip it and the whole thing is filled with just one massive bar of soap

have u considered one of those camel bag hydration thingies that's like a booze dispenser or whatever (maybe they're actually supposed to be for water and I'm just assuming based on the fact that Aldi's had wine dispensing insulated purses last week) and just filling that with soap? or potentially a water pistol filled with soap in a holster?

Two extremely viable options. I love the idea of a soap pistol in particular. Anytime someone's getting too annoying I just shoot soap at them
