In this video, I unbox Dick Soap Gate 2018 amongst the YA book community, go through the items, read smut fanfic outloud, and talk about The Soap. This was not the video that BookTube needed, nor wanted, but here I am defiling this place anyway.
So there has been a lot going on with this book box. People have decided the terrible soap dicks brought attention to this box (which it has) but now there is the issue of this book box company selling fan fiction which is wholly illegal. People can be sued from this and the company/insta account is getting a lot of backlash for it for good reasons. But the fact that SJ/Mess has posted on her instagram account but has yet to speak on this subject while other authors are doing so angers me beyond belief. In interviews she has stated that she does not read fan fiction in fear of copying (which she does from fanboys published authors but it’s okay for some reason) yet there is a whole booklet of smut fan fiction in this book along with the soap dick (???)
this whole situation blows my mind the more it progresse but SJ/Mess’s silence is the worst of it all
I’m not going to lie, the Soap Dick Discourse of ‘18 was the best birthday present anyone could have given me.
I wake up thinking it’s going to be a normal Wednesday morning, and you all come at me with this mess??
