i like the concept of soapuppies and i like that they're semi-open but it's a huge turnoff that they can ban u for "proshipping" even if it's not on their site. like it's one thing to not want certain types of content on your site, but trying to police what ppl do on other sites? who tf do they think they are

It bothers me how few people seem to have an issue with the Soapuppies owner leaving their staff (especially Slug) to manage their species and it's website. They seemingly don't do anything to help and only show up when they need money. I saw somebody send an ask about how Soapuppies' webdev is incompetent, but we should turn eyes to the actual owner who has essentially left the species to rot since its site launched. I know they like to imitate the Waterdogs creator but even they did more for their own species. I'm pretty sure all of the lore and development has been added by the mod team and not the owner. At that point, just give ownership to somebody who cares.

the dev of soapuppies is ridiculous. when a server member has piles of outstanding owed, everyone agrees its a problem and they're trade banned until the shit is done.
yet, when kiki slug (the dev) takes on more and more art every day, ignores their trades (check how their pokemon soap trades are doing in their own PUBLIC forum), and instead make more shit for friends, giveaways, and personal designs...its not an issue. suddenly the mods have nothing to say.

dani isnt a saint by any means but to say they are scamming is kinda ridiculous. they really do need to communicate better but if we’re speaking anecdotally, people do in fact get their art and updates without asking, i’m one of many who have!
you’re entirely valid to be irritated by wait times but they put it EVERYWHERE on their pages that they’re often inactive every so often because of college and the like. and while its no excuse for radio silence its a little disingenuous to pretend they’re actively trying to disenfranchise people when you still get your stuff.
i will also add, i do appreciate how theyre never really rude and do take accountability when asked about it, and as people even mention, they get to work

Soapuppies literaly are free though? Ive only ever spent money getting adopts I rlly like. Id do that with any character not just bc theyre CS/Soapuppies and its by far not the only way to get soapuppies
Myos are given for free monthly and you can earn all the trait items by playing the game. Idk what more you want. As far as traits go if they just handed you everything at any point there wouldnt rlly be a game to play and itd get really boring really fast.
They sell adopts and stuff bc they need money to run a website and sustain themselves in a world that literally requires money to survive. Running a website isnt free and running a literal game isnt easy. They deserve to be able to make some money. Theyre NOWHERE near as cash grabby as 99% of other species and the free to play option isnt even a grind. Idk what more you want.
If theres no money at all theres no website and no people to run the game bc they had to get 5 jobs to get groceries or starve. Simple. Until we live in a better world there will *always* be a money aspect. Be thankful that its pretty much just adopts and their monetization on the game itself is basically zero.

@ soappuppy anon, we need to be serious soapuppies only exists for waterdog rejects and its dying because people realize water based species are lame to begin with. the owner is a known tracer and art thief and the mods are all just their best friends who clearly don't care about this fact. people got banned from water dogs and flocked over as if it was going to make them feel better. seems like it didn't work
