Thoughts on Misty, Brock, and Gary's absence (excluding credits and brief 2-sec cameos) from the M20 movie?

HEARTBROKEN. CRUSHED. BETRAYED. RIPPED IN PIECES.

When the story and teaser poster for the 20th movie was announced I literally screamed. I saw that they were going to do a retelling of the first episode and so I immediately thought “WE’RE GONNA SEE OLD FACES AGAIN!!” 

The whole campaign was riding on the nostalgia wave so of course that was certainly what i assumed (and i’m sure everyone did as well) but as they revealed more and more info I got so confused and got sad…WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT @POKEMON WHY???

That was honestly the moment where i gave up hoping the gang would be back for a cameo or anything (for 10 years I kept on hoping!!) but them writing off the old gang was kind of a confirmation for me that it’s never gonna happen anymore.

(That’s why Misty and Brock returning for a cameo in the anime was such a genuine shock to me!!)

((note: i’m not bashing the 20th movie, it has excellent animation from what I could see and I’m sure it was a great movie. These are purely my thoughts on the misty, brock, gary issue))

thank you and i'm glad you enjoyed it! it's one of the few gifsets i've put solid effort into because it was my first day of winter break from a hectic semester at university and i thought i should start out on a productive high. i want to make more yugioh birthday gifs in the future but first i need to find a list of all the dates haha
