DUFFER BROTHERS YOU ARE COWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok also something about the actress change and how even though i adore delaney and her claudia on so many levels s1 claudia and bailey's version always seem to resonate more with me. and i was trying to think about why that was. and if i just wasn't giving delaney enough credit. and anyway something about how s1 claudia has that tortured porcelain doll look and teenage girl ferality while s2 claudia feels more like a strained, disillusioned woman without the twinge of dear diary hysteria from claudia's earlier years. and how part of that makes sense because she is a survivor and an endurer and no matter what armand says she would never have walked into the sun because she is NOT nicki and she is NOT fragile and she would have pushed through the agony of child vampirism and thrived and so it checks out that as a fledgling she was losing her mind but instead of killing herself she got a grip. but also iwtv is a show about unreliable narrators and the monstrosity of memory. so why would louis remember her so much differently in new orleans vs paris. when he was with lestat vs armand. is it because he's coping with the pain of remembering her death by thinking of her as a grown woman and sister vs his baby girl. is it because it's easier to think of her like grace who lived a full life vs paul who died at sunrise before his life could really even begin. is it because her turning was a symbolic promise that he and lestat would never leave each other and now that lestat is gone and they're not a family the spell is broken so she's neither lestat's daughter nor louis' anymore. is it because being with armand the boy masquerading as a gentleman makes him feel guilty about what he did to claudia so he deludes himself she looked older than she was. is it because no matter what that was still his little girl with a room full of dolls and a pink coffin and two dads that loved her so so much
