a/n: as only one person requested from the drabble challenge, I went onto a random number generator and got 63 (”Flea markets don’t carry fleas, you know?”). I decided it would be best suited to Jae. Enjoy.
Jae looked utterly dazed. His eyes followed the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling with the utmost concentration, as though it was the real things and he was trying to sort constellations. He squinted slightly, a result of leaving his glasses somewhere. They’d turn up under Sungjin’s sofa, or something, you were sure.
He’d been drinking. Well, just drinking may be a bit of understatement. He was completely drunk; and as much as you wanted to leave him lying on a cold bench outside somewhere as a consequence for his stupidity, you just couldn’t leave him.
From what he’d told you in slurred and incoherent sentences, he had gone to Sungjin’s with a few friends to have a few drinks and watch some films. Except, the drinking turned a little out of hand, and before he knew it Jae was calling you for somewhere to crash so he didn’t have to go home to his family in the most intoxicated state he’d probably ever been in his entire life.
“Why couldn’t you have just stayed at Sungjin’s?” You asked him as you slid a cup of water on the bedside table. He looked down from the stars and gazed at you, seemingly coming away from his fascination with the stars.
“There wasn’t enough room, and Dowoon and Wonpil were being disgusting. Sharing blankets and cuddling. And anyway, I needed an excuse to come and see you.” Jae grinned at you, his smile cheeky. In his drunken state, he didn’t seem to have much of a filter. Everything on his mind came spilling out like a waterfall and it’s almost got him into a lot of trouble way too many times.
“Whatever. You shouldn’t have got so drunk. If your mother knew-”
“I know, I know. It wasn’t meant to happen. It was Brian’s fault, he said we should play some drinking games and then brought out the vodka shots. Except they weren’t shots, they were glasses, and I feel really sick.”
“If you dare puke on my mattress Park Jaehyung, you will be buying me a new one.” You tell him tightly, but he doesn’t seem intimidated, instead, he giggles. Actually giggles. It’s hard not to smile along with the contagious song that escapes his lips.
“Come on, you.” You tell him, sliding into the bed beside him. “I want to sleep.”
“Do we have to sleep? Can we go to a flea market?”
“A flea market?” You question, eyes narrowing to look at him. “Why?”
“I want some fleas.” He mumbled, eyes dropping. He’s fighting for them to stay awake, though you’re lying at his side in the dark and tiredness is crashing into him like waves.
“Flea markets don’t carry fleas, you know?” You tell him.
But Jae is clearly still drunk, “I love you.” He states out of the blue, “I love you a lot (y/n)”
Then, he snores, and your cheeks are flaming but you’re also tired and this was a conversation that needed to be done sober. And thus, you let sleep overcome you too.
