It's this time of year that the Hon. Mayor cooks for dinner 😄 My mom makes delicious meals for him everyday since before I was born, but on New Year's eve they make extra special meals together for the entire family. My father takes care of the fireworks while we children take care of the music and the guests. We didn't always have Moët or Dutch cheese then. We played music on a Sony cassette player, ate spaghetti and a small lechon (roast pig) for dinner, had Blue Nun for our New Year's toast, and celebrated with family, friends, and neighbors. . . Today, we play music from a laptop computer as everything else grew along with the Mayor's dreams for our household and the community; our family grew, our circle of friends grew, and most importantly, we learned to trust God even more. He's done so much for us these past several years and our #recovery is only one of them. Our children saw us party and have fun without touching the drinks on the bar 😄 We just had our first #SoberBar with me mixing soda water, lemon, and flavor enhancers for myself and the boys. Our kids and the kids from the neighborhood received gifts from 🎅 Mayor Santa, played games, and lit sparklers without burning their hands or lighting each other on fire 😆 . . Truly, celebrations are complete with #family #NewyYear2020 #newyear #sobercelebrations #PartySober #sobermom #recoverywarrior #soberiscool #strong #justfortoday #homemaking #happyhomemaker https://www.instagram.com/p/B6x4xMZnM0Z/?igshid=1hrw6h6yv4ft1
