Soccer Preview - 7th February ‘17
It’s just the Premiership in action this week and there are a couple of massive matches tonight and tomorrow. With the league so tight from 7th to 16th and these teams being really close to falling into the relegation battle, these teams are desperate for points and this lines up some really good games. The title race is so close between Unios and City and both teams need to win to keep themselves in it. One slip-up could prove costly as the usual two fight it out at the top.
Kasa travel to Kellinae tonight as both teams look to get a win to help them get away from relegation.This was a 1-0 win for Kasa back in November.
Struggling Nova Scotia host a Quebec side which is gaining in confidence every week. Nova desperately need the points to get closer to being out of relegation. Quebec need the points to help their qualification bid for the Champions League. This was a 1-0 to Quebec SC in November.
Mid-table sides Ærita City and Ottawa play in Ottawa tonight. Both teams need the points to push upwards and try to catch up with the runaway top 6 and also keep themselves away from the bottom 3. This was a rare win for Ottawa in November which was a 1-0 score to the away side.
Struggling Toronto ASC host 2nd top Soh City tonight. Toronto need the points as they hover just above the relegation playoff spot. Soh City need the points as they look to keep pace and possibly overtake fierce rivals Soh Unios at the top of the Premiership. This was a 3-0 win for City in November.
Toronto SC host an Ærita United side which is looking to solidify their position in the top 4 with a win. Toronto SC are looking to keep themselves away from relegation. This was a 2-1 win for Ærita United last time.
Montreal Impact travel to fellow mid-table side Alaska Eagles tomorrow. With the teams being so close to dropping out of the challenge for possible continental spots this game could be crucial for both of them. This was a 1-0 win for Montreal in November.
Bottom of the table Berikitas look to gain some points as they have a large gap to cut to save themselves from relegation. They hope to start this revival against 7th place Ki Roh, who do not want to give up their fragile spot and they have ambitions of top 6 but need to start a long winning run. This was a 2-0 win for Ki Roh in November.
Joint-Leaders Soh Unios host a very strong Tellingham United side who are looking to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Quebec. Soh Unios look to try and get clear of City. Unios lost their 3 point lead at the top the last time these two sides met in November, which was a 2-1 win for Tellingham United.
Kel travel to Vancouver ASC on Wednesday night. This fixture is one of the quieter ones this round though Vancouver could do with the points to just keep them safe for now. This was a 2-0 win for Kel in November.
Vancouver SC host a strong Hawks side which is looking to keep their top 4 spot with a win. Vancouver aare looking to push on from their dismal 16th place and steer themselves away from a releation fight.

Soccer Preview - 3rd February ‘17
It’s February and that means that all the Leagues are starting up for the second half.
In the Premiership, Ki Roh start us off on Friday at 7 PM (local) by hosting Toronto ASC. Both teams are lower than they hoped for and this could be the catalyst for change as both look to keep themselves well clear of the drop. Quebec host a strong Tellingham side on Saturday evening. Soh Unios travel to Kellinae looking to continue their strong form in the leagues and cup on Sunday afternoon.
In League 1, Fireheart FC start the second half by hosting promotion contenders Capitol Wanderers on Friday evening. A Quebec derby is getting played on Sunday Lunchtime as EPC Quebec travel to AC Quebec.
In League 2, Regina United travel to EPC Kireti on Friday night as both teams look to kick the second half of the season off with a bang. Promotion rivals Dleki and South Systomia play on Sunday.
In League 3 a massive game is on Sunday as Troipa make the short trip to Kata United. Both teams are in the top 3 and Troipa won the reverse game at the end of November.
League 4 sees promotion rivals FC Quebec and Embar Town play and Embar Town are looking to avenge the loss that Quebec inflicted on them in November.
In League 5, Manta and Ottawa play on Sunday with both looking to push clear of the bottom 4.

League Cup Quarter Final Soccer Preview Special - Friday 20th January 2017
SOCCER IS BACK!!!! And the Systomian Festival is well underway, we’re into the second week of it in the Capitol.
For those that don’t know, the Festival is a celebration of Systomia and is held between the first 2 full moons after the Winter Solstice. The dates this year are Thursday 12th January-Saturday 11th February.
Tonight (Friday), sees an all Premiership tie as Vancouver ASC travel north to face Kasa FC. Both teams are mid-table in the Premiership and were having an inconsistent patch as the first half drew to a close. This should be a very close tie.
Saturday lunchtime sees the Hawks FC travel from Quebec to the Capitol to face Andrewjet FC, who are top of League 1. Both teams have had a really good first half. Andrewjet have caused 2 massive upsets in cup competitions this season as they have knocked out Ærita United in both the League Cup and the Systomian Cup. Hawks are enjoying a spell in the top 4 of the Premiership and are also looking for a long cup run. This should be a fascinating encounter.
Saturday evening sees the smallest side in the competition travel north to face the team defending the League Cup for a 5th consecutive year. Soh Unios should comfortably beat Quebec SD but QSD have played really well against top flight opposition, despite being in League 2. Unios comfortably beat QSD 3-0 in the Systomian Cup just before the Winter Break. This should be an interesting encounter but many people only see this as a formality for Soh Unios.
The final game is a very fiercely contested Capitol derby as Kel FC host Soh City on Sunday at lunchtime. Many players have seen this game as equal to or just below the Unios-City games, so we are all excited for this game.
Soccer Preview: 2nd December ‘16
After my 2 month absence, Soccer Preview is back for the next couple of weeks.
It’s Round 4 in the Cup this week and all the ties look really good.
On Friday Night:
Capitol Wanderers host Dleki to start the Round off. Both clubs have had really good form, so it’ll be a good test for the League 2 side. The last time these two sides met, Capitol Wanderers beat Delki 1-0 to almost secure Dleki’s relegation in May. These 2 sides always give it 100% in each match and will be a treat to watch.
Vancouver SC travel to face Quebec SC in the late kick-off. Vancouver SC have struggled in the league this year, while Quebec have underperformed and are sitting well below where they should be. Quebec have the boost that they qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champion’s League but they will probably be quite tired after the tough match against FC Dallas. The last time Quebec played Vancouver was in late October, where Quebec won 3-0 at home.
On Saturday, surprise League 2 second place Quebec SD travel to the Capitol at lunchtime to face Soh Unios, where the hosts look strong favourites to win. Both sides have been really strong this season, but could a 2 league gap be crucial here? The last time these two sides met was back in February 2010, when Unios won 3-0 in Quebec in Quebec SD’s last season in the Premiership.
In the afternoon, SD Toronto travel to Troipa. Troipa have been in stellar form this season and sit 2nd in League 3, surprisingly, just behind Quebec ASC on goal difference. SD Toronto sit 15th in League 1 and have been struggling against teams both above and below them. Troipa narrowly won 1-0 when the teams last met in July 2003 in the cup, when Troipa had found themselves in League 4 after their severe financial trouble. SD Toronto had just been relegated from League 2 that season.
In the evening, it’s a massive game in Ærita, when surprise League 1 leaders Andrewjet play Ærita United. Both sides have been playing some of their best soccer in years, and this promises to be one of the best ties in the round. Ærita United beat Andrewjet 3-1 when these two last played in April 2011 in the Premiership.
On Sunday, Ærita City travel to the Capitol to play the holders Soh City. Ærita City have struggled this season, but their form has picked up again. Soh City have been on their best run of form since before they started sharing the National Stadium when the Andrewjet Arena was getting rebuilt. Soh City won 3-0 at the Andrewjet Arena in September this year.
In the afternoon, 2 of the mid-bottom sides of the table go head-to-head in Montreal as Toronto ASC face Impact. Both sides had a terrible start to the season and Montreal will be feeling terrible after crashing out of the ASSL yesterday. The last time these 2 sides met was a 1-0 win for Toronto at home in August.
In the evening, Hawks travel to Kilepa and the Hawks playing better this season better than the end of last season and Kilepa playing worse than they did last season. Hawks sit in the Champions League places at the moment in the Premiership, while Kilepa sit just outside the promotion spots in League 1. The last time these two sides met was a 3-0 win for the Hawks in March ‘15.

Soccer Preview - 30th Sept ‘16
It is the 2nd Round of the League Cup and plenty of fixtures are taking place throughout the weekend all the way to Sunday evening.
The Tellingham United vs Soh City game should be one of the best on offer, with both teams at the top of the Premiership.
Can the top of League 1 pull off a shock victory against Ærita United on Friday night?
Even though the League Cup is in full swing, the NLS still plays this weekend and there are plenty of big games happening across all 3 divisions.
In League 3, Kireti host Alaska ASC before Kata United take on Axley & District EPC on Sunday. Ki Roh Wanderers travel to a very strong Troipa side on Saturday.
It is another Kelf derby in League 4, this time between Kelf and Kelf Town. Embar Town are looking to continue their dominance against a Portland SC side which is holding its own in mid table.
Last season’s 5th and 6th in League 5 take on each other as Bogotá travel north to face Manta. It is also the bottom 2 playing each other as pointless Soh City II take on FC Edmonton, who have only picked up a single point all season. Both clubs are hoping that a victory here will provide a stepping stone up the table and out of the relegation zone.
