In considering Soccovolle strategy, I think general advice probably says you want the ball in the air on offense and on the ground in defense.
Its easy to get a ball to the other side of the field once its on the ground -- all defense has to do it is punt it to their teammates. But on offense, the benefits of being able to spike the ball are enumerable. Those things can go fast into the net, and especially with the golden hoop its likely easier to get around the goalie coming from the top rather than the bottom. It would depend a lot on how physical/rough players are allowed to get, but I imagine offense is mostly about coordination and communication, and defense is mostly about speed and aggression
