Today, in my AP Gov class, we had a substitute. So, naturally, no one does work, and instead goes off into variable tangents about different issues to debate. I happened to get into a rousing discussion with four people about abortion. Some of my favorite points of their pro-life bullshit include:
Women who get abortions should be looked down on.
You should only have sex if you want a baby.
People won't have unsafe abortions if abortion is made illegal.
[When bringing up the fact that the legal definition of death is when a person's brain is dead, no matter what else is working] It has a heartbeat! It's alive!
Men do just as much for the pregnancy as women do.
Rape doesn't take away from the fact that it's an alive human being.
Even if they used protection, if it fails, that does not justify getting an abortion.
What a lovely way to begin the day, saying my body is up for other's decisions.
