here’s why billionaires cannot exist ethically:
yes, they might have started a business that turned out to be very successful and created lots of money for them HOWEVER 1billion is 1000 million, to become a billionaire on minimum wage takes 21,000 years. you cannot physically make that much money without exploiting workers. factory workers could be on minimum wage working 12 hour shifts everyday and that is how the CEO collects that much money.
and even if the CEO of a company did by some miracle manage to become a billionaire without exploiting workers, billionaires still do tax evasion, they horde the money for themselves and literally never donate to charity. if they didn't avoid paying tax their tax money could fund hospitals and schools and jobs and public property such as parks. if they donated to charity they could save thousands of lives with that money
hoarding your money as a billionaire is one of the most selfish things you can do. there is so much you could do with it and you chose to do nothing.
Three more Bookchin-Sensei reaction images commissioned by Anon, idk maybe its a political thing?
Personally i believe we shouldn't introduce socialism to the nationalists.
FRIEND EXPLAINING HOW TO RP TOMORROW
Pope Francis cracked down Friday on the spread of the old Latin Mass, reversing one of Pope Benedict XVI’s signature decisions in a major challenge to traditionalist Catholics who immediately decried it as an attack on them and the ancient liturgy.
Latin Mass is divisive now. But letting left wing politicians who refuse to follow Church teachings receive Eucharist is A-ok. This is ridiculous.
smh
can we talk about the fact that almost all modern problems are due to capitalism? like, the restaveks in haiti, the housing crisis in the uk rn, poverty worldwide, nothing being done about climate change, climate change being a thing in general, the NHS funds being cut, financial difficulty, innocent ppl being wrongly convicted of crimes even if it’s clear they’re not guilty, people not being able to afford healthcare e.c.t...
if society was socialist, so many modern day problems would be fixed
so why isn’t society socialist?
The main problem with Capitalism
It works too well for it’s own good.
We live in a world where almost anything is at your fingertips, so long as you can pay for it. The countless types of work that needs to be done, the tools to perform that work, the effort that goes into making those tools has it’s own complex background, and all of it is near invisible. All of this happens nearly invisible behind the scenes and as a consumer the goods are just waiting for you at the store.
The stuff is just there.
This unseen complex web is built of generations worth of improvements in a darwin-like natural selection where effective methods outperform obsolete ones, giving us the things we want and need more easily than people of the past could dream of, and one simple mechanic drives the whole system: prices.
Prices consolidate everything from the cost to produce something to the availability number of providers. If there’s little competition and profit margins are high, it signal’s that there an opportunity to undercut. It’s all communicated into a single number, it’s the core of how our entire system works, and it does this so effortlessly most people don’t notice.
And that’s why people are so confident that you can tear out the backbone of the whole system and still have it work.
