This is a tuatara!!! They’re little tiny guys native to Aotearoa (New Zealand) and they may look like lizards but they’re actually from the Triassic era!!!

They even have three eyes!!! Scientists believe it’s for absorbing vitamin D and determining day/ night cycles but it’s only really visible on babies :)

Basically little silly guys who are super easy to spot on hot days at Zealandia (wildlife sanctuary) because they love a little sunbathe :D
