This pair of fanfics are a love in the time of covid x animal crossing romance and the story is just absolutely delightful. Zelda saves Hyrule from covid and Link doesn't know where to put his fish market. It sounds like a bizarre crossover, but just trust me: I have never played animal crossing and find the memory of the first year of the pandemic traumatic af, but I was still completely charmed by this story. I was probably not the target audience for this one, but was suckered in anyway.

This bind was actually finished a while ago but I couldn't post it as I had also bound a copy for my friend who loves animal crossing and loz for their Christmas gift and I didn't want to spoil the surprise. Now she has it and I am free to share!

The gorgeous art on the front and back cover was done by @madocaito who was just awesome and I love both of the pictures so much.

I just finished playing botw and this is EXACTLY the fic I was hoping existed when I was done. 10/10, highly recommend

Silence by @airplanned

Silence by @airplanned is a lovely introspective fic where Zelda and Link have both been banished to the temple of time and begin an awkward friendship there under a vow of silence. I really loved the the worldbuilding around the religion and the description of daily life of the abbey. It is gentle and beautiful and I could rant about Zelda and Link's relationship in this story for ages. I'm so thrilled I have a copy for my physical collection now.

The beautiful art on the cover is done by @aquaticpal and perfectly illustrates the moonlight kiss from chapter two. Thank you so much for once again for giving me permission to use your art for this one-off personal edition!

My maths was slightly off as can clearly be seen on the cover, the border decorations do not go far enough over, which is annoying but not annoying enough for me to redo the whole cover. I am a recovering perfectionist and trying to practice the belief that done is better than perfect. I normally prefer more colours on my printed covers but this really suited the tone of the story.

Casing is never my friend and I will learn to live with it. I think I am actively getting worse at this point but that will not stop me making books!

The Future is Bright by socksock/@airplanned

The Future is Bright by socksock is a BotW role swap AU where Zelda is the Hylian champion and Link is the Prince. Zelda has amnesia from the shrine of resurrection but also has given birth to a baby boy during her quest. I adore this story so much and I have reread it at least five times. The pining is brilliant, the chemistry between Zelda and Link is hot as hell, and the fight scenes are brilliant. This is THE best role reversal AU in my opinion. Besides the main change of swapping out their roles, there are many other creative changes that work so well. It is such a satisfying and fun story, and I would urge you to read it if you have not already done so.

The beautiful art on the front cover was done by @lunabrush. I have had this textblock ready to be cased for over a year at this point and had been looking at pieces of art of Zelda as the hero for a while. I decided to organise the art myself as I had a really specific vision of how I wanted the cover to look. @lunabrush fulfilled the commission so beautifully, I mean just look at it! I really love how the picture came out (just look at the plait! the baby! the mastersword!! look at Zelda's face!!!) She was a dream to work with, I cannot compliment her and her art highly enough! This was the first time I commissioned art for a fic I was binding and it was so fun!

The back cover is a screenshot of Hyrule castle from BotW which I have blurred and edited the saturation slightly to better match the other colours on the cover. Again my maths was slightly out with the spine but overall I am very happy with it.

All the Trashy Novels

All the Trashy Novels by @airplanned is one of my favourite pre calamity cannon divergent fanfictions. It is hilarious and heart warming and I have returned to it so many times. Zelda and Link are such awkward horny little teens and I love them so so much.

I typeset and had actually finished the text block for this one (along with others) last November, which is why the information page says 2024, but we move, she is done now.

I was stuck for such a long time on the cover but I had seen other binders working with matte soft touch laminate/fanart for covers and had wanted to give that kind of cover a go for a while.

When I found the amazing art on the cover of this fic by @eerna and the gorgeous kiss on the back cover by @aquaticpal I was desperate to create a cover from them and could think of nothing else until I had achieved my goal. Thank you both so so much for giving me permission to use your art for this one-off personal edition to my collection. I am so happy with it and will absolutely treasure it forever.

There are a couple of things I would edit about the cover in terms of where I placed things, and the colours came out quite a bit darker than I expected, but overall I am thrilled with how it came out and can't wait to create more covers in this style.

The casing isn't quite abysmal which I am taking as a win. I do need to work on my margins however.
