With rising costs and increasing debt facing many college graduates, discuss why college students should (or should not) pursue advanced degrees.
A lot of careers don't require (or benefit from) an advanced career. So, it ultimately depends on the individual's professional goals. However, I say yes if for no other reason than the competitive edge an advanced degree offers (for many fields). In an era when places like McDonald's are considering Bachelor's degrees as a requirement for employment as a cashier (true story: http://www.techyville.com/2013/04/news/cashier-opening-at-mcdonalds-requires-a-bachelors-degree-2-years-experience/), graduate and professional degrees no longer seem so "advanced."
