Just out of curiosity? How advanced is the technology in your ocs' home setting?
How can a bunch of robots get away with not having to put up with the limits of BEING robots?
(Unless you set it up like that just for the heck of it, lol)
If we're talking about the advancements of the technology of homes in the universe of my characters, the technology is pretty advanced that it is possible to get furniture that can fix itself with the press of a button, and dishes that can wash themselves with the press of a button, however the self-fixing furniture option is well... an optional thing. Technology in the universe my characters live in have advanced to the point where they have the cure to basically every disease.
Sorry if the last bit will sound a bit complicated, I'll try to answer this one in the best way I can:
Nowadays, it is possible for Vrobots to do almost anything a Vfox can do (except for reproducing in the way they do as Vrobots are machines, Vfoxes are not). They're pretty much treated the same as their Vfox counterparts.
When the Vrobots first appeared, the Vfoxes thought that because they were machines that looked like them, that they were very limited, that they couldn't feel pain (emotionally, physically or mentally), suffer, or do anything at all, leaving the Vrobots treated like well.. robots, and in some cases, ostracized and alienated.
That was some professionals back at the lab came and did some research, they took in at least 5 to 7 Vrobots and it was there that confirmed that Yes! Vrobots can do anything like Vfoxes can (except for reproducing like Vfoxes, as it is physically impossible for robots or any machine to do that).
Any limit that Vrobots can't break, they usually find some sort of loophole to go around it. For example, if a Vrobot wants to have kids, they either find the parts to make it themselves or contact a factory to build the kid for them.
