aftermath of craft night
MY GARDEN! i love it so much and my vegetables in the big planter are actually growing oh my goddddd
to shreds, you say?
when i moved into my current house over a year ago there was a massive pile of unopened mail for previous people who'd lived here, i decided to keep it to eventually make recycled paper with and this week i finally got around to doing that.
im kinda just winging it all based off of vague memories of m aking paper in primary school but i'm having fun and hopefully the next sheet that's currently drying will be a bit more smooth/thin as i managed to get the wet paper strips more pulpy...
Volunteering at the charity store(/thrift store/op shop) that's three minutes walk from my house on saturdays has genuinely been one of the best things I've done for my mental health in a long time.
I get on so well with the other staff, I get on well with the customer base, I'm starting to get to know all the regulars, who mostly all live nearby too. I feel like I'm actually a part of a community and have a sense of belonging that I've never really had IRL before.
Like I made cupcakes for another volunteer's 73rd birthday a couple weeks ago, last week I also gave her a USB that I'd filled with music for her to use in her car as she'd mentioned it not having a CD player and being annoyed by the way the phone connections for it, and she messaged me a couple days ago to thank me for it saying it was working perfectly.
my seeds are growing!
finally got my angelus leather paints delivered today and even though the paint colour matches arent perfect to the original colours of my docs they are close enough and if anything theyre even brighter.
Im still planning to put a few more coats on the ones Ive already started before applying the matt acrylic leathet finisher and then polishing and waxing, and then ill have to do the other two boots once the current two boots are done but im really pleased with myself and how its coming along especially given how many years of mistreatment these boots have seen
i will be honest. i think buying a scrub daddy changed the trajectory of my life for the better
