The future looks bright, says Nicholas De Wolff, the Executive Director of Oregon Story Board, a state-funded economic development accelerator based in Portland.

From mountains to forests to oceans to cities, the Rogue Valley has close access to almost every kind of location a filmmaker might need, as confirmed by local experts including acclaimed producer Gary Kout, Southern Oregon University film professor and documentary filmmaker Robert Clift, and community media producer David Bruce.

We have seen the future of film financing, and it is happening right now in Southern Oregon. Independent production company Joma Films already put itself on the map with Calvin Marshall and Redwood Highway, and the team is financing its upcoming science fiction thriller with an inventive mix of crowd-funding and regional angel investing.
