“We see a human being as a vessel. There is good in him and there is bad. A human being starts to learn feelings from birth, he feels emotions, he makes choices, he gains experiences, and eventually in the best case, he turns towards the good side – like in our program. So the first part is about how people learn to feel the good and the bad. The second part is aggression, when people go through war or adversities, and the last part in the end, is peace.”

Sofia Shevchenko & Igor Eremenko
Rhythm Dance
2019 World Junior Championships
Eremenko had joined the school of Zhuk and Svinin, where Shevchenko just started ice dance, but he split up with his partner soon after. The coaches started to look for a new partner for him. To give him a chance to practice, he skated with Shevchenko but the plan wasn’t to team them up.
“Igor was already a grown-up ice dancer and I was still very much a single skater who had recently switched to the group of Irina Zhuk and Alexander Svinin,” Shevchenko recalled. They have paired us up just so that I could learn how to skate with a partner and so that Igor doesn’t forget how to do that. But nobody ever thought that it would work out so well.”
Shevchenko worked hard in order to catch up. Meanwhile, Eremenko had tryouts with other girls, which motivated Shevchenko to improve even more. In the end, they teamed up in 2014.
Now, they are starting their journey at the senior level as Junior Grand Prix Champions, 7-time Junior Grand Prix Medalists, Junior National Champions, and World Junior Medalists.
He posted these at exactly 12AM Moscow Time! Isn’t that cute? 🥰
Sofi & igor’s reaction..bless their pure souls 🥰 if they keep doing what they’re doing, they’ll find themselves on top in 3-5 years
I really hope so! They both have wonderful skating skills but I’m especially impressed with her! It’s hard to believe she’s only 16! She honestly gives me Elena Ilinykh vibes... definitely a Russian diva in the making 💃🏻
